Oni officially revealed for Super Street Fighter IV: AE

8:20 PM on 04.07.2011

Street Fighter fans have known about Oni for a while now. In fact, Dtoid is one of the few places you can still see some of the initially leaked videos of Oni and Evil Ryu in Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition, as Capcom ripped down most of those vids from Youtube. Maybe they'll be less harsh about that Oni footage from here on out, as the character was officially announced in Japan today.

We still don't know exactly who Oni is, which is definitely part of the fun here. Chances are that he's just another version of Akuma, but my (not so) secret hope is that he's actually a Dark Hadou-infused variant of Panthro, and that Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition is really just there to lead into the ultimate cross over game -- Capcom Vs. Rankin Bass.

We have another video of Oni after the jump, and more (including a move list) in the gallery.

Project J looks like a trippy little game I could waste some time with

Sometimes I just want to zone out with some synth music, bright colors, and pure gameplay. Super Hexagon works well for that, but it is always nice to try something new. Project J has an interesting hook to it, where the lig...more

Pokémon fighting game coming to arcades first for 'the challenge'

The announcement of Pokkén Tournament came as a surprise to most of us. We knew some sort of Pokémon fighter was coming, but the news that Tekken director Katsuhiro Harada was in charge was an awe...more

Bandai Namco is making Pokkén Tournament with older fans in mind

I get the sinking feeling it'll be a good long while before we get our hands on Pokkén Tournament, Bandai Namco's Pokémon fighting game for arcades (and probably Wii U). Until then, here's another quote about th...more
