This is the second year that videogame cover band The OneUps will play San Francisco's Bay Area Game Jam. The band played 24-hour game making competition, held at Microsoft's Silicon Valley Campus, last year alongside another popular (and fantastic) videogame cover band, The Megas, and the response was great. This year the show is free, and all ages can attend. They'll have their new CD, the Super Mario Kart album, on hand for those that may have heard about it.

The event takes place at 1065 La Avenida Street, Mountian View, California on May 16th at 3 p.m. If you're in the San Francisco area, go check them out. Destructoid will also be there!

The show will also be the debut of the band's Volume 1&2 Combo Pack (seen above), which is a reprinting of the band's first two CD releases in one package -- perfect for new fans. Bonus: you can hear a little Dale North action in this release. Shameless!

This past weekend, I found myself running through the crowds of the PAX East show floor, pushing people out of the way to get to the Indie Megabooth, where Cosmic DJ was waiting for me. As a musician and a fan of music games I would have sought it out anyway. But I found out via Twitter that the game features a corgi, so I took off running.more

Addiction allegory Spate's soundtrack is available now

Spate made a bit of a stir with its release last month, if not for its attempt to tackle themes more mature than shooting bullets at beefy dudes, then for its dated representation of absinthe as it exists and is understood to...more
