YouTuber Freddie25 loves himself some videogame music. A couple of weeks back on Weekend Destructainment, I posted Freddie25’s badass cover of the music from Mega Man 9. Earlier this past week, Freddie25 continued to bring more awesome with this fantastic cover based on the Wind Waker theme.
Freddie is a very talented musician, as you can see in the video above. He performs the Wind Waker theme with a guitar, accordion, flute, glasses of water and more. If you enjoy the cover, you can download the MP3 of it here.
While we’re talking about Zelda music, I have to ask: which Zelda theme do you like more? The traditional Legend of Zelda theme, or the Wind Waker theme?
[Thanks, iconsam!]
Hamza Aziz, Destructoid's Community Director, has been here since day one. He was born when a tiger coughed up a hairball into a pool of ooze. He was one of the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles before budget cuts. Hamza works as a previews editor and manages a team in San Francisco. To date he has given away tens of thousands of dollars in prizes to readers. What a dick. Actually, Hamza is as kind as he is hairy.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
This is why it freaking needs a WiiMake.
This is why I need a Wii and a copy of this game.
Maybe this song is irrelevant to you, but to many Dtoiders, I'm sure this song really means a lot. I know lots of people think that Wind Waker is the best Zelda, I know it is my personal favourite.
Exactly, Windwaker was so much more awesome than any Zelda game ever. Now that that's been said I shall wait for the OoT fanboys to eat me alive.

I want to be this man.
Also, Wind Waker was truly a great game and more than worthy to be in the Zelda series, but Link to The Past and Ocarina of Time just cannot be topped for me. This is mostly for nostalgic reasons, but that does not mean they are not valid reasons at all. If a game can make you feel nostalgic, than that game succeeded on an amazing level.
The question is, what currently released games will carry that same level of Nostalgia that games released ten years ago have for us now?
I've only played two Zeldas in my lifetime (yeah, I'm PRETTY late to the party): Wind Waker and Twilight Princess, and between the two, it's WW all the way. I'm downloading OoT for the VC this Christmas break to see what the fuss is all about but seeing as it's more TP than WW I have a feeling I might still prefer WW over it. We'll see.
Dragon Roost Island is all sorts of win.
Brings back Wind Waker memories and reminds me why it holds a firm place somewhere in my top 5 games of all time.
I disagree. While Windwaker isn't my favorite by far, you can't deny that it was definitely a new spin on the general platforming aspects of the game. I think that adding that leaf to the standard item set, and greatly decreasing the abilities of the hookshot(grappling hook) made you attack the same zelda puzzles we've done for years in a new way.
However, your opinion is your opinion, and you are wholly entitled to it.
On the matter at hand, that song is amazing, and so is this video. Probably one of the most bitchin video game theme covers I've ever seen.
