One cable to rule them all photo

For those of us who really DO love next gen gaming, XCM has become the first out of the gate (at least to my knowledge) to come out with a component cable that will allow your Wii, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 to be hooked up all at the same time. You have no idea (or if you're rich you do) how annoying it is to switch component cables all the time to play games. Now the XCM XFPS 360 multicomponent cable v2, as it is called, is here to help.

What's even better is that after you're done cleaning out your bank account for the systems and games, this cable will only set you back $29.99. Thank you XCM, you have answered my prayers.

the PS2 and PS3 connections on the back are the same. So, it should work, yes.

Now I just gotta hold out for the composite/s-video cables, because my video setup is crap. Still, though, I'll pay $30 to have my systems hooked up to a crap video setup at the same time.

Aaron: If you don't need to hook up multiple HDMI (for your lousy setup) you don't need specifically this cable. Just get a scart switcher, which probably would cost you $10 at radio shack or wherever.

At Uni. we run the PS2, Wii, 360 and a 'digi-box' into our tv through one scart input, and the damn thing didn't cost $30. It looks somewhat like this:

As you can see, you can run the sound out to your Hi-Fi as well, with just one cable (less switching again). Though you'll wanna use an optical cable if you can for the 360 / PS2.

I loved the music in the vid, but the vid itself was confusing. Couldn't they have just shown a straight shot of it in action instead of all the damn goofy zooming? Oh well. This is pretty nifty, but I need a switch box for my satellite, DVD, and Wii. Anybody have suggestions for a switch box?

A useful, cheap third-party peripheral? No way.

I'd be all for this if I didn't so hate the idea of digging through my entertainment center when I wanted to play a different system.

God, I'm so lazy. so very lazy.

I am so happy someone made these, because I primarily use my wall-mounted 40-inch display, which I have to dismount (and risk dropping) every time I want to switch cables. This will also reduce the number of asthetically displeasing wires running up the wall to my TV.

So what, is the just a smaller version of a normal AV switch/receiver?

If anyone is looking for a component switch, I just picked one up at Best Buy for $25. It's called like the Pelican HD something or other. It feels cheap, and is all plastic but it works like a charm. I couldn't detect any quality loss.

i got this cable before they made a new one. this one has wii, ps2/ps3, and 360. the one i got has xbox, ps2/ps3, and 360. it doesnt bother me because i have the wii on a different tv than the other two, so whatever.

XCM makes great quality stuff. i love multi component cable i have. the one thing i think you should all know about it is that it is not a very long cable. the one i have is maybe 4' long at the most. it is not a problem for me cause the ps3 and 360 are on the desk next to my monitor, but if youre component-in ports are kinda far from the system then i suggest you be wary. granted, i have the older cable but i doubt they made it any longer.

I'd think that the cable would support the PS1 as well, because the PS1 has the same input as the PS2 does, but I could be wrong because this is for component video.

I currently have an older (probably no longer made) cable that has PS2 or PS1, Xbox, and SNES/N64/GCN plugs (3 plugs altogether) with S-Video out. If I ever got all three of the current gen systems, I'd get that thing, to accompany my multi S-Video cable and its systems it supports. It might make more sense to buy or make a gigantic switch box for all my game systems instead, though.

I'd pick this up if it had a CRT monitor connection. The 360 will melt your eyeballs on my 25" CRT. So what, I take my 360 to work. long walks on the beach. double dates.
