I don't plan on getting RE6, but I think it's a good idea to put cosmetic stuff on the disc. Since it's a multiplayer game your co-op partner won't need to download a compatibility pack just to see your taunt or wear a slutty outfit.
Ok, I have no problem with on disc DLC. Mainly because I have never brought DLC regardless of where it came from. However this response literally makes no sense assuming your real concern about on disc dlc is that it was already made months before release and could have easily been in the game.

That firstly is just bullshit. But it also means that they already had the content made when the game was going out for printing, Because how else would they know.
So If your issue is the content was made and is being held back, then this hardly helps.

Yeah, it doesn't seem to me that a lot of this content was worthy of the setting up of a "separate budget" in the first place. If you're gearing towards including a special difficulty mode during development then why not just put that bad boy right in the game rather than hold back and release it later on. Logically, it doesn't make sense except just to fleece people.
I don't think that the melee attacks will be premium DLC. I don't think Capcom are so bad as to charge money for new punches and kicks for Chris Redfield.

I'm predicting Resident Evil 6 is going to fall off the radar in... let me check here... approximately 14 hours.
Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen is going to have to be one of the best pieces of free DLC ever released for home gaming consoles to make up for some of Capcom's past and recent on-disc DLC disciplinary infractions.

So in reality Capcom sells 2 GOTY Editions, one on release date with the content locked to sell as DLC and one at a later date with the content unlocked.
Capcom is like an abusive boyfriend/girlfriend to me; they keep promising they'll change and won't hurt me, and then when I give them another chance, they go back to their old ways of lying and hurting me.

Reading most people were actually complaining about over the SFvT on-disc DLC, then hearing everyone going "We won!" when Capcom said they'd stop, showed most of the people complaining either didn't understand what Capcom had just said or that they never understood what the problem with Capcom's DLC plans was in the first place.
All Capcom said they'd do was re-evaluate actually putting DLC on discs. They didn't say they'd change how they plan DLC, when they create DLC, how much DLC they'll create, how many trivial/freebies they can instead turn into DLC, or how much of a game they might carve up or set aside for DLC purposes, or anything like that.

why assume itll be DLC? they said Resident Evil.net will unlock things in game too. Stands to reason it could be unlocked that way, no?

as far as I read in terms of quantity of content resident evil 6 did offer enough so personally I wouldn't find it to bad if it had on disk dlc, Not that I would want to buy it but still. Also if there are tools to unlock the dlc thats already on disk or on your system its fully legal to do so. Its not piracy to thinker with something you already own. You are not downloading anything.
It will be nice if this all turns out to be RE.net unlocks rather than paid DLC and Dark Arisen still turns out to be a great bit of free DLC to even if Capcom has less to make amends for in their customers' eyes.
I don't get the issue with including DLC as on disc content. It's not like anyone believes that DLC isn't already designed and ready to go when the initial game is shipped anymore. Some DLC might be designed later... but most games nowadays create some form of DLC concurrent with the game because DLC is a huge money grab and most every developer plans on DLC.
Being on disk at least allows those with a crappy internet connection to still purchase the DLC and simply download a code to unlock it instead of actually downloading the full content. If the space is there on the disk - then why not include it?

Already called this. Their reassessment just meant they wouldn't announce dlc until a later date. @capcom You're lucky dragons dogma was so damn good.
@qlum That's an interesting supposition. Say for example you own a cable box or perhaps xm transmitter but do not subscribe to the service. Do you consider it a legal action to tinker with either device to receive the service without paying for the subscription? After all, you are only tinkering with a device you own. Just a thought.
