Capcom released this gameplay footage of Okamiden yesterday and it's pretty much the cutest thing I've seen this week. Chibiterasu is just so pudgy and I love watching him scamper around. The video shows a little bit of the game's brushwork and a bit of combat. And then the cuteness gets amplified by an eager child riding Chibiterasu like a little pony.
I have to give props to Capcom for sticking with the Okami series despite failing to move copies of the original game on two different platforms. I just don't understand why this franchise is not hugely popular. It's one of the best Zelda-style titles on the market and yet it still managed to fail. Let's get the word out this time because I'd really like to see more of these games come to market.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
My idea as to why Okami didn't initially sell very well is because of two reasons. First, it was released exclusively for an old platform (PS2) when some people already owned Xbox 360's, and others were anticipating the PS3 and Wii. In other words, not enough people were interested in using their old PS2's anymore. The second reason is Twilight Princess. Of all the Zelda games, it proved to be the most similar to Okami, not to mention the fact that both games cater to a very similar audience. It was to be released shortly after Okami, so most people decided they would rather wait for the Zelda game than play some "Zelda clone."
However, the game did end up selling somewhat well; it is now a PS2 "Greatest HIt."
100% agreed. I think I can get used to it though.
Besides that it really reminds me of Banjo Kazooie and Zelda Smashed togheter in aun unholly union.
BRILLIANT!
