Okami Vans will make your jaw drop photo

Um ... COOL. That is all I can say about these Okami-themed Vans, which are the latest project from the fine peeps over at Kyozo Kicks. Not only are the shoes beyond awesome, but I really like the sentiments in the artist's mind when he creates them. From his blog:

My work with shoes and video games I have come to realize is my way of saying thank you to the people behind those games. Thank you for being bold with your ideas, for breaking the mold and for making video games genuinely funny. I can say without fail that next year we will have a better Call Of Duty, a better looking Fifa/Madden and a faster Need for Speed – But we may never surpass the brilliance of the original Okami.

Cheers to that. He says the shoes took about fifteen hours to create and that they are for sale for £115. If you happen to be interested, you can contact him through tonks@kyozokicks.com. They are a men's US size 11, so if that happens to be your size too and you love all things Okami, this is surely your lucky day. If that's a bit pricey for your tastes, go check out my Okamiden preview to ease your pain.

Truer words were never spoken. Anyone with a Wii or a PS2 who has not bought and loved this game is a complete fool.

I bought the game and I lost the will to live with the incessant jabber sound each character made. Zack and Wiki does something similar and I can live with that, but I never understood why the fake talking sound got to me so much.

P.S. I like the shoes, but I have a beard and a penchant for hoodies and jeans. I would stick out like a sore thumb wearing these lol. Stick me the Gears logo on the side of some Dr Martens and we have a deal :)

Buying those is like asking to get beat up and made fun of. But they're still worth it!

@Xzyliac, You could make a personal promise to yourself that you WILL play it. That's what I did... when it was first released. To this day I am shamed by my procrastination.

If he can muster a pair in a size 15 (US), then I'm totally there.

@Nitex

I hear that...While I can appreciate the effort that went into making them, I can't understand why anyone would ever pay to wear something like that in public.

Colette you are too kind to feature my shoes, I enjoyed making them immensely. Thank you to all the positive comments. Unfortunately the internet has given shallow, small minded people a voice - naming no names.......Rosseh.......oops.

Peace, Keep rocking my socks off Destructoid!

and now that Tonks posted, Rosseh feels like a douchebag. and he should as well, seeing his opinion's shit.

As for those shoes, Tonks, those are incredible. I would be so proud of wearing a piece of art like those.
