While answering a few questions on the Capcom Unity forums, Capcom's senior director of strategy, Christian Svensson had a few things to say about the Wii's port of Okami -- and it appears to be a port in the literal sense. When asked by poster 3chordjack about the possibility of new content, Sven had this to say in response: "Nope. 40-60 hours of content is plenty for anyone. It doesn't need more bosses. Most people complain that the game is too long as it is. And you could read a few threads around here asking us to shorten or cut it (which we also didn't do)."
That may leave a bad taste in the mouths of those who demand new content whenever a game is released for a new platform, but I have to agree, 40-60 hours isn't exactly something to sneeze at. The good news is that the game is pretty much finished, you can now skip over the nagging walls of endless text, and it should be released sometime in March. Capcom is wagering that the Wiimote will inject the level of interest that Okami deserved the first time around on the PS2, but didn't get. Just don't ignore this great game like you did last time -- It's exactly why we can't have nice things. [Via Cubed3]

Yes, yes I care.
Also, first.
Thanks, but I already purchased and played this on my PS2 over a year ago. I personally don't really care at all about the Wii version.
NOPE.
Got my Okami for the PS2 without Waggle thank you very much.
I CARE!!!!
I care, I played it the first time and would be willing to play it again. Although it gets low priority in the epic "list of games I want to play versus my wallet" battle.
I care, since I didn't have a PS2 the first time this came around. And I'm all about the wiimote control.
My brother's got the PS2 version and will buy the Wii port. Ōkami just rocks.
I care, I care to much. It's why I hit you baby, becasue I care. Also becasue I was bad and didn't play in on PS2.
I care, I have the PS2 version, still haven't finished it yet, but Id much rather play it on my Wii
I want to care, I really do. This will probably be one I wait for the price to go down.
If I cared less about another Wii PS2-port, I think the Universe would implode.
Never had a PS2, so... yeah, I care.
I was always really jealous that they moved it from the GameCube to the PS2. Now I finally get to play it. Woot.
Beautiful game, but honestly, I got bored. meh.
I missed it the first time around so I care.
It's on my list, but only after I finally get a hold of No More Heroes...
I don't as I own it on PS2.
I dropped the game the instant I heard it was coming to Wii... so yes.
DO care! Didn't finish the PS2 version
so I'm probably gonna get this one too.
I hope they keep the wiimote waggling to the minimum.
I just wanna use it for the brush!
Brace the c-blogs. Remember when this was first announced?
My care level is this...should i get it on PS2 or Wii? I have a PS3 so would it look better in upscaled HD then on the Wii...I don't care for the motion controls...you be the judge?
I also did not have a PS2 when Okami came out, so I'm definitely in.
PS3 is OG. Wiimotes look like dildos. Duh.
Being as I've never played it: I CARE TOO!!!
I never got a chance to play it so I care.
My PS2 took a dump about halfway through Okami, so I never finished it.
So, yes, I care!
Unless I missed, oh... two thirds of the gmae, Okami does not take 40-60 hours to complete. I'm pretty sure I beat it in around 25, so what exactly are they talking about?
I was just thinking about this, wondering how long would it still take to release the game.
I never got the PS2 version, so I care.
Also, 480P.
I intentionally waited to buy it on Wii when I heard rumours it was getting ported across.
So I care. Lots.
hmmm...this or super smash bros brawl...
yeah i dont care much anymore. imagine if this was a launch title for the wii though.that would have been epic.
I care. I loved it on the PS2 and I know I'm going to love it just as much on the Wii.
What a fantastic game.
I care! I had no PS2 to play it on.
I care. Sold my PS2 long ago so I never got to play this one. Definitely getting this on day 1.
I care. I'm surprised I'm not the only one who was without a PS2 last gen, and I missed out on Okami and a lot of gems.
What's the price for Okami Wii, anyway? Last I heard it was the full $49, which kinda irks me.
"I never got the PS2 version, so I care."
What he said.
Of course I care. I've been wanting to pick this up for ages! In fact, I've had it preordered for a couple weeks now.
I care, only because it gives this awesome game another chance to actually be played by people.
Same as others above, never got a chance to get the PS2 version. But ever since I heard it was coming to the Wii, I've been excited. Okami was one of the first games I thought about when the Wii really began to take shape as a system, that the brush strokes would be a perfect match for the Wii-mote. I care LOTS. :-) There seems to be too much coming out on the Wii that I care about in the next few months. My wallet hates me...but my twin girls love me. I think they spend more time gaming than I do, and they are only 5! lol
"Just don't ignore this great game like you did last time -- It's exactly why we can't have nice things."
precisely... this game is one of my favorites and if you havent played it yet... then do so
i mean theres no online multiplayer or unlockable achievements, but hey... youll just have to make do
believe it or not some games are good based soley on their content... crazy i know
I care. I probably will buy this game...
Yep. I don't have a PS2, and therefore didn't get a chance to check this game out the first time around. Okami's control scheme and "brush" mechanics seem perfectly suited to the Wii, and I hope the developers used this opportunity to make a port that actually won't suck.
Damn it Capcom, bring Bionic Commando and Resident Evil 5 to the Wii.
The Wii is a 7th gen console just like the 360 and PS3.
No more ports of PS2/Gamecube games!!!
The Wii is the new PS2 and therefore it should recieve all the best games while thbe PS3/350 should get Wii ports and scraps!!!
Lazy developers!!!
great that its coming out but his reply to the new content is just retarded!
I might care. Really depends on what I'm playing when it comes out. If it wasn't yet another port I might care more...
lubczyk: Beh, RE5 is supposed to heavily use shadows and heating/lighting.
I'd actually much prefer a game unique to Wii, one that improves on the RE4 engine (but no lame crosshair, plz) really putting the Wii hardware to its work. Even if it isn't a "true" RE game and only a gaiden, as long as it uses RE4's game engine and has effort put into it I'll enjoy it.
I bought this game on the PS2, and I'll be buying it again on the Wii. It's a game that really deserves the attention.
Yay! Finally a chance to play some awesomeness.
I'll go with the general trend and say I care.
I'll certainly be buying it on Wii as I missed it first time around. That and I think anything thats good on Wii should be bought just so the developers will start to take the platform seriously.
Attention 3rd party developers: I have cash but I'm not as stupid as I look. Make me some decent games that aren't minigame crapfests.
Well, if there's no additional content, whether I purchase this hinges entirely on how well the Wii controls fit the game. If they're still kind of tacked on, I'll go buy the PS2 version.
