Piracy of overpriced software like Microsoft Office that runs for around 600 bucks is at least REASONABLE.
But piracy of a 60 dollar game is outright pathetic, and dickish. Anyone who pirates games should get their entire collection of games taken away from them, never be allowed to play video games ever again, and be subject to a number of legal fees.

Might as well make another post for MvC3. Its been leaked as well. In fact almost every big game gets leaked early. Not sure how they manage it, but it always seems to happen.
Posting news stories about game leaks will just spread awareness of said leak, thus even more people will pirate it. Just sayin' :p

One of my piratier friends actually downloaded ME2 for the XBOX a week before release, because of a dare to finish it before the release.
Advertising it like this doesn't help anyone. Sony and Guerilla must have known about this before you knew - the big release sites have had this up earlier today, and if the big companies don't keep track of those sites, then they deserve the piracy as punishment for stupidity - so the only people you're helping are the people who are pirating, but who have yet to see KZ3 up there, or haven't decided if they want to download it yet.
So, Basically, by advertising the fact that Killzone 3 is now avaiable for pirate downloads, you are - how shocking!!! - *ADVERTISING THE FACT THAT KILLZONE 3 IS AVAILABLE FOR PIRATE DOWNLOADS*.
Don't contribute to the phenomenon.
Also, the fact that developers 'hate' PC gamers, as you so eloquently put, is undermined by the alacrity with which console games are cracked and downloaded.

If they really want to stop the pre launch piracy what they need to do is tighten their damn security. Find the source of the leaks and plug them. Until that happens they really can't bitch.

as i said in the piracy thread. i only pirate games that are obscure and have not been released outside of japan. i'll backup my PS2, Wii and GC games on PC and play them on a emulator in full 1080p 60fps HD :P

PS3 owners only have themselves to blame. Time to stop supporting the PS3 guys. The only viable platform to make games for any more is Onlive.

I feel really bad for Sony lately. They've been stepping up bringing new, exclusive content to their online storefront and still don't charge regular users for online play, and they still get all this crap thrown their way. I'm slowly leaving that sweet spot of my life living off of my parent's money and only earning supplimental income that goes straight to the savings account, but I imagine most people that pirate this stuff just haven't coped with suddenly having so much less money to spend on games.
Can't they just play a favorite game for a second time to tide themselves over between paychecks? Do they absolutely HAVE to steal? Brats.

Ability to sell tickets and tapes by the million shifted all the money into few huge productions. Well it weren't necesserilly only sequels, but works of same renown director, or with the same star actor.
This is actually impact of copyright on media marketplace.
There's only so much advertising space out there. If everybody hears about Killzone and few more top productions most of them won't look for any more games that year. If you want more new IPs you should campaing for SMALLER BUDGETS. Some kind of 10mln $ cap law maybe ;) ?
