I'm an equal opportunity animal fan. I love dogs, and the popular Nintendo DS title Nintendogs gave canines their time in the spotlight. But now it's time for cats.
Due this spring, Yume Neko DS comes from Sega, the same people that brought Japan the super-real, super-freaky robotic cat of the same name. The DS game is a different story, though. If you're a cat lover, you'll think that this feline answer to Nintendogs is adorable, and you'll surely choke up over this lovely commercial. *sniffle*
Gametrailers has the new tear-jerking Yume Neko DS commercial that hit the net today. It's great, and the cat is cute, but what really pulls at the heartstrings in this video is Aoi Teshima's promotional song "Koi Suru Shippo." Damn it, why am I crying. Don't look at me!
If you're crying with me, you should know that this game won't be released until late April in Japan. It's hard to say if it will ever get a US release. *sob*

I'm not a cat person, but my dog is. Seriously, he keeps getting scratched at by the occasional stray but he'll still try to play with one. I love my dog.
This game is so great and amazingly addictive that whilst I was beta testing it I failed to notice myself neglecting my real life cat until it died :(
P.S. Yes, the above statement is a joke (maybe even a crappy joke) and is not real (before someone reports me for animal cruelty), my two cats are purrrrrfectly fine (also I ain't no Beta tester either).
I was wondering if there was actually any game footage hiding in there or not. I agree with a few people had said that the models look awful but I like to think that this is a step in the right direction and that Nintendo will wake up and make a kitty version of the wonderful Nintendogs. Also...awwww. That cat makes me want a kitty.
Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
