Channel 4 News' Benjamin Cohen recently got a rare, inside look at Microsoft's Redmond, Washington offices. Part of that access including getting a demo of a voice- and motion-controlled living space. Lucky him!
And that's where Halo 5, of all things, popped up in the unlikeliest of places. Snuggled up beside something about Project Gotham Racing and "Grandma's Room," you'll spot an "Inside Halo 5" selection along with a logo.
Oh man, it's our first look at Halo 5, everyone! Okay, to be fair, the technology in this video piece along with the rest of the reporting is far more interesting than the existence of Halo 5. It hasn't been announced officially, but we already knew something was coming, right? Still, for rabid Halo fans, even this tiniest morsel should get their hearts racing.

Jesus, Jayson, you're such a hypocrite. You say they're milking Halo as a cash cow, but do you have the gall to say that about the SOCOM series? Or how about Ratchet and Clank?
Ill stick with SOCOM as an example. 9 titles in that series has been released, with another coming up. 6 Halo titles have been released. Who's being milked more? Halo hasn't even seen as many spinoff titles as Socom.
And what of the Ratchet and Clank series? 9 titles on that one....but that's not milking, is it?

Yeah, the typical 'Jayson is a hypocrite' one. I mean, the series doesn't even has enough titles to milk. Just because MS is sending their flagship title out to sea once again, that's considdered milking? I mean, sure it has merch and recogniton among gamers as the Standard console FPS experience on 360, but it isn't milked as say Call of Duty is.
Again, I'm casually optimistic for the next installment. Not my BONER list, but hopefully it can suffice.

Or given that Microsoft gave 'exclusive access' to a reporter they probably just put that in there so that the internet would start talking about nothing (and for lulz).

I hate to feed trolls but...Gears of War, Alan Wake, Halo, and better service and exclusive DLC like Dead Rising, COD. Saying a system only has one flagship game is ignorant. No one system is better than the other.

It's like how they put that billboard for jaws 9 or whatever in back to the future 2. That's what this display was, a "glimpse of the future" doesn't mean it really exists yet.
At the end of the day, Sony has their cast of "exclusive" mascots, so does Nintendo (herp derp nintendo milks mario!), and MS has Mastur Cheef.
Now go be happy, play games, enjoy yourself, stop asserting your opinions into other people like a backdoor bottom bandit and just play games for crying out loud!

Anyone who tried to tell me that either of these statements is wrong has already lost the argument :D
Also, giving the series a 6/10? Every time you're playing a shooter, you're playing something that was influenced by Halo: CE. Every time you play online, you're playing something that was influenced by Halo 2. That deserves more.

Seconded. Arguments about these "samey gritty FPS games" really hold no water if the games are good. Rather have fun but the same than experimental and crap.
Then again, I'd prefer experimental and good over both those things, but sticking with a good quality, very popular game? Money in the bank for Microsoft. People are gonna have to realise that no matter how much they whine, series like Halo and CoD are bankable as hell, so they will keep being made. And hopefull they'll keep being good. (Apart from CoD, that was never that good :D)

Yeah, because obviously another company making the title automatically means it's going to suck...
Not suck, but it might be too different. If they change how the aim feels or how the assault rifle fires, even that is enough. This is why they shouldn't make more Halo games at all. Why don't they come up with something new and exciting instead? Halo would be a perfect franchise to ressurect when the 4th gen comes along. Imagine Master Chief back with a vengeance after his year long cryo-sleep somewhere deep in space. It would be refreshing. Even something as solid as Halo gets old after a while you know?
