Am I the only one who thinks these games look progressively worse in the visual department? They looked great on the PS2, but now they're so sharp that they just don't look like the cartoon at all any more. Also, the Budokai series on the PS2 was the best (well, the Shin Budokai PSP games too). Haven't owned a DBZ game since then, though I've played them and don't like them.

I still think DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi 3 for Wii is the best DBZ game made so far. Maybe this can change that. Always good to bring back childhood memories of watching Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z.

I'm actually one of the few remaining holdout fans of DBZ, but all of the fighting games have been essentially the same since the PS2 era. It's sad because the games actually have elaborate systems and they look pretty good, there's just too many of them. It's also sad because there are some really different, really good Dragon Ball games that aren't fighters.

I'll still play it. I think i've played every DragonBall game since the SNES, although most of them briefly, over some friend's house.
Also, who doesn't enjoy kicking the shit outta your friends while flying and throwing massive energy beams?

I just so happen to be rewatching the series, maybe this will come out about the time I finish watching everything.

I enjoyed Budokai 3, but I don't really care anymore. It does look really good though.

They need to return to the Budokai 3 formula, I was never a fan of Tenkaichi's unballanced as hell style of combat. I remember playing as SSJ4 Gogeta one time while my brother was playing as Chiaotzu. I managed to make a sandwich, eat said sandwich, go to the bathroom, and still beat him. As compared to Budokai 3 where I won an online ai capsule tounament using Raditz.

I'm gay and I don't even have any problem with there being a lack of them in Dragonball Z.

It's an 80s/90s anime, from /Japan/. The chances of them having a mainstream anime with multiple gay protagonists is slim to none, though the amount of homoeroticism in parts of it was hilarity.

Though I'd love to see a good game based on early Dragonball, where you fight dinosaurs and use Hoi-Poi capsules and shit.

Anyone here who would love a dragonball RPG on xbox 360 or PS3 with real time fighting mechanics? Each time I see a new one of these i just think to myself what a wasted potential...I would love actually going into the main storyline with plenty of sidequests flying around etc.

It could have online co-op even you could take on main badguys with 2 or 3 other friends wow them with your powerlevel or your latest transformations or attacks. It even lends itself to versus if you just keep the realtime fighting mechanics. Imo you would have a better attachment to your character if you levelled and fought with him in the storymode first.

I'll buy it, I always buy them, it's my madden, also the guy who created DBZ is not gay, look at all his other work, it's just designed for kids

It's fine, very common at least, to not reference gays at all in shows. That's cool. But to go out of your way to show gay characters in your comic or show and show them only in a bad light (General Blue is a Nazi) just stinks.

@Yukichin: I just don't see what is so timeless about a lot of shows and movies. If they were made for kids, why haen't fellow geeks and nerds stopped referencing them by now? I'm going to be even more of a whiny killjoy (I'm a little self-aware) and say that as much as I hate what Star Wars has become, at least when they finally had a gay character in a miscellaneous novel somewhere, they weren't the worst person alive. I want to be excited but this doesn't really seem to look any different than the previous few games. Unless I hear something to make this a departure from the earlier games in the series, I'll pass.

I like the graphics and while the DBZ games have never been a great fighting game series, they've always been fun. I might rent this.

I recently picked up Burst Limit 2 for like $7 used on Amazon, so I've been having some fun with that. I'll probably play this one at some point down the road when it drops in price.

I hope they go more in the "what if" direction, because I've fought the same battles in like 10 different games. Just get silly with it and have some ridiculous fanfiction-esque battles, who cares about canon at this point.
