Also Dragons Lair talk reminded me of Heavy Rain and how good that game was.
Why?
When you think about it, it offers insight into the psychological mechanisms behind the hoarding of wealth. We can't possibly spend these little moon points anywhere, yet for some reason we still want more.

See, I think its the psychological mechanisms behind being better then others (more points = better then you, its an age old arcade mentality -if not further back.). Sure, you can plug "hording of wealth" into that as well, such as: more money = better then you -an age old human mentality. But since you can't spend gamerscore, so I can't -personally- imagine its directly really the same thing as just feeling like your lording over others because you happen to have some imaginary score.
Now it's obviously not the exact same thing, but I bet it's all tied into the same Pavlovian response as gamerscore. People want their "points" whether they can put them to good use or not.
I agree with on arkham citys new stuff.
Yeah, the whole region thing with Live accounts is such bullshit. Even cheevos aside all the purchase history. I have a lot of XBLA/DLC/XBIG I would like to not have to buy again to play online.
