Off-Road Velociraptor Safari, the greatest game evar, is now out. The game is a free to play and all you need to do is download a browser plugin. After that, you can create an account which will give you access to the leaderboards, stats and keep track of your hilarious achievements. Or you can just go in as a guest and get right into the action.

Off-Road Velociraptor Safari is about a Velociraptor that drives a Jeep on his quest to kill other Velociraptors and ship them off to Num-Num coporations, which will make tasty treats out of the raptors.

Hit the jump for the basics on gameplay and my impressions of the game. Or just go right on over to jump into the action.

The gameplay is very smple. Your Jeep is equipped with a radar system, unlimited boost and an unlimited supply of a giant chain with a spike on it. Each game only lasts five minutes and you start off in different parts of the map every time. Scoring involves doing jumps, tricks, collecting Artifacts, shipping off Num-Nums crates and of course, killing and shipping off Velociraptors.

I really love the game. It's so simple and quirky that it's hard not to love it. The controls are pretty simple, but it does get frustrating at times. The slow motion gets old and frustrating after awhile. There is some lagging issue too when I would try to catch three raptors at once.

Overall, for an eight week long project, it's mighty impressive. Plus, it's free so you really have no excuse to not play it. 11/10.

[Thank you taumpytears!]

Unicorn: Heh, funny thing is that the new Turok originally had a vehicle portion. It was supposed to be like the Jurassic Park TRex chase. They took it out cause they thought it would take away from the action and stealth aspects way too much.

Doesn't the raptor driver have a monocle on or something?

@Hamza.

that's probably for the best, but if they had vehicles like halo... lol riding a quad into a raptor would be so ownd on so many levels.

then again, they made the right choice... now all they need to do is add the cerebral bore in a later downloadable content... just to appease all the people bitching about it.

Tried to play it earlier but it was a stutter fest.

Don't know if it was some issue with my PC or the servers.

I wouldn't know how to stop that thing. Ketamine or Jack daniels? hell they both may just make the situation worse, I say our only option is to run down as many flights of stairs as possible and then laugh as it can't follow. Though if it starts to float that will be another of my childhood illusions shattered.

Here's a hint, you don't have to kill the raptors, chasing them and forcing them to go to the Num-Num catcher is so much more rewarding, and sinister >:)
Btw, does anyone know what the eggs are for, the red ones only give 3K points when being delivered.

I played this game last night thanks to Buster’s comment in Vent. It was fun for a while, but it went nuts and crashed Firefox in my second game, and the lagging got really old, really quickly. But yeah, Hamza’s right...for a free game that took two months to develop, it’s cool.

@Hamza: Minor correction here...

I think you mean “quirky” instead of “corky” in the second sentence of the fifth paragraph.

Best concept EVAR!!!!!!!

The game itself is a little choppy at times but it's still an 11/10. Can you imagine if this got the HD Xbox Live treatment? Ohhh, save the thought, for I have already soiled myself.

Hahahaha...this game is just too much. The scoring names are hilarious. You get "Raptor on Raptor" for hitting a raptor with another raptor that's already attached to your vehicle.

We almost considered not releasing this game because the people on the internet were so darn mean to us.

I actually quite enjoy the game.
