I wonder what the plan is for not stepping on the toes of the console games. Make the Vita version shittier on purpose? Make it more single player oriented? Throw in JRPG elements?

Looking forward to it and seeing how it cross plays with either MW3 or the newer COD coming out later this year.

I hate CoD on consoles but if it was on the Vita I would totally play that, its perfect: a mindless, fast paced arcade shooter that you can easily hop onto at any time.

For the record I would love to see a JRPG COD game. Androgynous soldiers on the battlefield and pig-tailed 14 year old girls holding rifles which are 8 times bigger than their actual height with a cheesy J-ROCK soundtrack - Sounds like a winner to me!

THIS is exactly what we need nowadays. More first person shooters with less color and less story, mainly focusing around online play.
We sure haven't had enough after call of duty's like 11 releases.
Or battlefield's, or socom's, or medal of honor's...
If I was in charge I would make a rule that said you can no longer make modern warfare games with 20% of real color anymore. You have to do something different for once, there's only so much shitty multiplayer games I can take.

It'd have to be on par with the console releases to get me interested tbh, I can't imagine the Vita struggling with the game engine as it is, the fucking thing is based on last century tech anyway. The real concern would be the title being properly nerfed to fit on the 3DS, which I already have but it would be a pity nonetheless.
That last part is the good news in the article. Naughty Dog & other 1st party developers are going to make Vita games.
the funny thing is that it wouldn't be such a bad idea in the sense of increasing the user base of the vita. More people buying vitas = more games

i love how they screw with actual developers and publishers announcing titles and deals that don't exist - like how "new" Monster Hunter is coming to Vita this year, despite Capcom's repeatedly saying that the psp version of MH 3rd Portable will be the only MH game playable on Vita for the next couple of years. same goes to all those "3rd party exclusive content" deals announced by sony during E3's that turned out to be Sony claims without actual approval or knowledge of from those publishers - ps3 version of SSX getting exclusive mountains? EA didn't even know about it.

I think you hit the nail on its head, COD is just the time of shooter to play on the go. I think they just need some good bots(blops bots weren't half bad then again the average COD play is pretty dumb) anda nice survival mode and its golden.

I hate call of duty as much as the nxt guy but I can understand the appeal of it. Yet still I doubt this is such a game changer.
Old news. They announced this when they revealed the Vita. It'll probably just be a port of the PS3 version of Black Ops 2. Unfortunately I do my CoD gaming on 360, so any type of cross platform stuff or discounted bundles won't do much to get me excited.
At the same time, Call of Duty is America's Monster Hunter. If they market this right, it could be a serious system sell for Vita. And, fittingly enough, it would be coming about 9 months into the domestic life span of the Vita. Same time Tri G came to the 3DS in Japan.
