Oddworld, Legacy of Kain, Pandemonium coming to PSN photo

The news I've been waiting for ever since the PS3 launched has finally arrived. The Oddworld games are hitting PSOne Classics to be enjoyed on the PS3 and PSP whenever you bloody well please. Not only that, but a whole host of cool titles like Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain and Pandemonium! are planned for release.

The news comes from that delighful hub of leaked news, the ESRB. A full list of games have recently been rated, betraying plans for future PSN releases. Here's a full set of games, some of which are sure to take your fancy:

  • Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain
  • Bloody Roar
  • Cool Boarders 2
  • Cool Boarders 3
  • International Track & Field
  • Oddworld: Abe's Exodus
  • Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee
  • Pandemonium!
  • SimCity 2000
  • Syphon Filter 2
  • Tomb Raider
  • Tomb Raider 2
  • Um Jammer Lammy
Now we're cooking with gas! There are some great PSN titles there, surely arriving to coincide with the PSPgo's launch. It's about time we had more great PSOne Classics arrive, and with Oddworld finally on the list, there is very little else I could want for. Boy, can I not wait to get those games on my PSP. What ones have caught your own eye?

All the title games were a HUGE part of my childhood. As were Cool Boarders 2 (ugh, 3!), and Bloody Roar :D

If Legacy of Kain has faster loading times, I will definitely be picking that one up. Also, I thought Bloody Roar had been out for a while now.

ODDWORLD!!!!!! The most underrated game in the universe ever.

I might get Oddysee and Exoddus simply to play them in glorius HD!

Coolboarders 2, both Oddworlds, and Um Jammer Lammy!

So much time spent on all of them.

Oddworld was such an obscure title, and that's why I remember it so much. That's good to hear. Bloody Roar was also loads of fun.

I'm still waiting for them to bring back Legend of Dragoon though...

Kickass!

Does anyone know if there's any slowdown when playing PSone games on a PSP, like with PSP eboots and whatnot?

@unangbangkay

I've not had any and I've got Crash Bandicoot, Crash Bandicoot Racing, Demolition Derby and that golf game.

No slow down on any that I've noticed.

I bought Tomb Raider 2 a couple of days ago, and boy, that game did not age well... I was also expecting a resolution bump, since every emulator can do that to 3d objects, but no.

I know it's kinda off topic if you want to have those games on the go, but if you just want to play them, both Oddworld titles are on gog.com for like 10 bucks :)

Britain weeps a tear of sadness today. I'd like to play the old Tomb Raider's but I'm pretty sure it will never be..

We still don't have Resident Evil..

Oddworld games are fantastic. This and the upcoming batch of sweet looking exclusives for the PS3 is making it harder and harder to wait until Christmas time to pick one up. Offer some sweet bundles, Sony! I want!

@time: You are so right sir, that game is amazing, but the load times just kill it. Don't ever look at your inventory in that game!

I was going to say the same thing about LoK.

It's totally badass, has an amazing story and some of the best voice acting in a game ever (the whole series does). But if you want to change your armor, expect to wait through a minute of load screens when you pause the game.

I'll probably still pick it up though and try to HOPE the loading screens away.

Every time anyone says EU has anything better than the US. Something like this happens.
I can't wait for the day that Sony says "From now on the EU store will updated on a Friday so that the US can be the first to get the games"

Already picked up the Oddworld games on Steam for $6 when they were on sale a few weeks ago. I'm all over the Legacy of Kain, though. That game was so freaking cool.

This is great news. Why are people saying the Oddworld games are obscure/underrated? They got heaps of hype and praise. Maybe not so much in the states I guess.
