Thanks for covering this. I've been wondering about when the Oddbox would be hitting Steam since it's announcement in October.
YES! So happy to hear about this again. Stranger's Wrath was one of my favorite games, it'll be awesome to play it again on the PC.
Well this'll make my Stranger's Wrath useless in collector's value, hopefully it'll have widescreen support and some updated textures and the such.
I thought the creators of the oddworld brand have been pretty clear for the last year that they're not working on a new game but ARE working on trying to get the oddworld universe in a movie. Hmm, i wish i had some sources to back up that claim. I remember them being on podcasts (possibly one of the 1up podcasts) and saying that they're trying to work with movie studios.

I loved Abes Oddessey. I bought it on the PSN and damn are games getting easier cause I've forgotten how tough that game wasx gotta be sneaky and mind pray alot and "okay" and "I dunno" like no tommorow.

Does anyone remember Heart of Darkness? It was a really awesome game that Oddworld always reminded me of. I'd absolutely love to see a continuation of that.
Oddworld=Greatness. Munch's Odyssey intrigued me back in the day, a superb game ahead of its time. Stranger's Wrath I loved as well, I just dont remember finishing it...Im not sure why. Maybe another console was released soon after, that is just what comes into my hazy, THC infested memory. I could be TOTALLY off base. Anyhoo, more of this creative development in games please.
AO was the first game i played on my original playstation, so i always hated that the series went xbox exclusive. nice to finally get the chance to play the rest.
Hope to see a new one in the future, Abe and Munch need to get their HD on.

Well, this is a bummer, but Lorne did an interview with Game Informer last year that basically said the same thing. If you were expecting a new Oddworld game, they shelved it a long time ago and from the sounds of things have no desire to go back to that -- I think Lorne was talking about some fancy micro-transaction driven not-mmo game experiences as the future of his studio's work, but I havent read the article in a very long time -- I might be wrong on that.
I'm amazed how long its taken them to port Munch and Stranger considering they've had 7 or so years. :P
