Oculus Rift support for Euro Truck Simulator 2 in beta

1:45 PM on 10.22.2013

The killer app for Oculus Rift is finally here, as the inconceivably popular Euro Truck Simulator 2 now features support for the virtual reality headset. As you can see from the lengthy demonstration above, it allows the player to become fully immersed in a big rig experience. You can look left and right and the display moves to the left and right!

That might have been tinged with sarcasm. I get why people are excited for Oculus Rift. Really, I do. There may come a time when I join you in that enthusiasm, but my lone experience with the Rift left me feeling like there's a long way to go yet. I'm happy to be in the minority in questioning whether it's a device which represents the future of gameplay, as consumer support for it is the only way it will ever have a chance of survival. I just can't muster the faith.
