Oculus Rift and Virtual Boy: A match made in VR hell

11:00 PM on 04.26.2013

If I can't have an Oculus Rift, I'll do the next best thing: watch someone else demo the virtual-reality headset using a bunch of currently-available games that I can relate to. Cymatic Bruce on YouTube is still pumping out more videos, and one in particular caught my attention. Here he is playing a survival horror game for Virtual Boy using an emulator called VBjin-OVR.

Looking at this demonstration burns my eyes in a nostalgic way only Nintendo's black-and-red console ever could. One can only imagine what trauma this would cause with a Rift strapped on, but it must not be that bad in-person considering how many Virtual Boy videos he's put out.
