OC ReMix's new Donkey Kong Country 2 album is the hotness photo

To this day, no videogame soundtrack grabs me like Donkey Kong Country 2 does and always will. I spent the majority of my childhood playing this game, attempting to figure out its vast library of secrets without the aid of an FAQ or game guide. Needless to say, its incredible music has stuck with me.

I can listen to the music, close my eyes, and see the game -- see Crocodile Island -- as I imagined it to be as a kid; that's the power of nostalgia. OverClocked ReMix just released "Donkey Kong Country 2: Serious Monkey Business," a free collection of 30+ tracks -- they even got David Wise (DKC2's composer) involved.

Hearing all of these classic songs reimagined is like a dream come true. Huge thanks to the guys and gals that worked on this project are in order. It's absolutely a must-download for fans of the series.

Grab it here. For those who have given the album a listen already, what's your favorite track? Mine is "Rare Respite" by Patrick Burns.

And Kong in Concert, the original DKC remix album, even though it's oooold as hell, is still amazing.

I am a big fan of OCRemix, my favorite track is probably "Aquatic Pressure" or Divided by Grace from Project Chaos, so I'll be downloading this soon.

I haven't heard any of the DKC2 tracks yet however.

Donkey Kong Country 2? I've played DKC1 for the SNES when I was 4 years old, and bought DKC3 on the Wii virtual console 2 yrs. ago, but I've never played DKC2. I'd like to see DKC4 on Wii though.....haven't seen DK since I stopped playing SSBB

My favorite song is the part when Dixie Kong finishes a level and starts shredding on the guitar. Too bad it's only a couple seconds long.

@Oishidesu

DKC2 grabs what the first one did and made it even better, and the third one is a bit awkward to play after for the bunch of features. Not a badgame, but not AS good.

You are missing big time! There are loads of pirates and awesome bosses.

Come on now, stop hating on DKC3. Honestly, I like it more than DKC2, and here's why. You know how in every good game, there's those few levels that make you go "FUCK, not this level." and you can't wait to get it done and over with? DKC2 has those. A lot of them. More then DKC3, so I enjoy playing number 3 more.

Love it. I started downloading as soon as I saw your twitter on the side bar last night. It's certainly one of my favourite soundtracks of all time, and this remix just blows me away.

These were the glory days of my life, playing DKC2! I do miss being a kid with no responsibilities but getting to the next level, or finding that last DK coin...

I was listening to this last night studying, it's freaking awesome. All of the stuff OCR puts out is great, and if you guys enjoy this CD, you should really go download and look at their other tracks they have on there. There's well over 3,000 remixes on there to choose from.
