Nyko's Perfect Shot Wii gun is ideal for pistol whipping photo

If you haven't cared for the style of any of the previous guns available for the Wii, the Perfect Shot from Nyko may appeal to your baser instincts. Presenting a more compact body than the Zapper, the gun allows you to comfortably use one hand and forfeits all of that nunchuk nonsense.

Hysteria aside, Perfect Shot can be pre-ordered through Amazon for a mere $12.99. Cheap weapons! Now that's something to get worked up about. Before you get bouncy about giving it as a gift this Holiday, I have to pee in your soup -- it won't be available for purchase until December 24th, so if you can give a gift late that's the only way you can slap a red bow on it.

I'm interested to see if this gun will earn any negative reaction in the press. Sure, it's brightly painted, but it still resembles a real gun more than any of the previously available models. It's funny to think of some wailing protester stamping on a pile of plastic pistols, but before you laugh, it may actually be happening in some boondocks town. Damn hippies.

Yeah looks alot better but I would still like to see a gun were you plug the wii remote in as in the trigger is an actual button not a piece of plastic that presses against a button on the wii remote.

Oh sweet, just the item I need to hold up a liquor store without spending hundreds of dollars on a real gun.

Hey, that orange ring around the noozle indicates that its a TOY GUN! You can't fault them for selling a TOY GUN! They did that non sense with the re released Megatron TOYS! because they looked reliastic.

Of course, the ring is just a cheap piece of plastic that you can probably pop off easy, like with a pocket knife . . .

hysteria aside, I wonder how this jives with games that still require you to use the A button on a regular basis. Isn't that part of why the zapper is a wrap around two hander dealy?

Can the nunchuk attach in the back or at the bottom like I saw another handgun-esque gun controller thinger do?

This would be sweet for Umbrella Chronicles. The Zapper is just not happening with that game, no matter how you hold it.

Nifty. But what about nunchuck compatibility? Is that actually required in any wii light gun games?

The chances of being able to aim down the sight and shoot where you're aiming are close to zero.

Looks much better than the zapper, but a concern for me, as someone mentioned before, is how much the A button is utilized in shooter games? If you have to push it to say take cover while using the nunchuck to move around this would really not work at all. Also the orange part on the end looks like it holds the remote down on the gun attachment. If you popped it off it would be loose and probably wouldn't work. I guess it depends on the game you are playing and if you can change the button configuration, like change the A button controls over to the Z or C button on the nunchuck if they aren't being used.

No zapper games should require the A button. Link's doesn't, and you can just use Z in Umbrella Chronicles, so I don't think it'll be a problem. Unless you wanna use it for Metroid or something.

I thought about it a little and I think that if an A button were added to the front of the grip it would likely solve that problem.

So the trigger hits the B button, but do you still have to manhandle the barrel to hit the A, +, -, 1, and 2 buttons?

->Dexter & imbeta: By the looks of it, yes you will. It shouldn't be a problem for most games though, I imagine.

->brad drac: Nunchuck port is still accessible through an opening at the arse end of the product. Should really try finding answers for myself before asking, but meh.

You can't use that for games that need the nunchaku to move, can you? I'd rather buy a gun that works for every game.

The boyfriend: Picked up two of these so we could play RE:UC together.

Pretty good, but as it has been mentioned already, you can't really sight it in properly unless your rig is set up -just- right. You would need to stand at exactly the right distance from the sensor bar, the right height, and NOT MOVE.

One thing you may not realize until you get your hands on one: The grip is far from ergonomic. Its a thick-arse brick that doesn't exactly sit comfortably in the hands of anyone without gorilla paws. Its acceptable for reasonable playtimes, but it hurts after extended play (not as much as if you tried it with just the Wiimote, however, which is the point).

Last (and definitely least), the nunchaku bypass doesn't snap into place as securely as the slot on the Wiimote. In fact, you can actually just pull it out without retracting the clips. It fits pretty snugly to stay in the slot otherwise, but if you pull, it will come out.

Overall, its still the best gun peripheral atm, and you really can't beat the price. However, the above gripes in mind, its not that much better (or better at all perhaps) value-wise than the zapper package, being that the zapper comes with a game for only $5-7 more (also, don't forget shipping, since this isn't available in stores). If you needed a second gun, though, this is definitely your best bet.
