NYCC: New Capcom Arcade Classics coming to Wii in 2011 photo

There's new Capcom Arcade Classics coming our way, which is always good news in my book. I have and treasure some of the Japan-only, multi-disc Sega Saturn Capcom classics set (they also released these for the PlayStation), but these new classics releases are even handier as they'll be Wii Virtual Arcade games. This means I can use a wireless controller and see them in a less blurry fashion.

A small sign on the New York Comic-Con show floor says that these classics are coming in 2011:

  • Son Son
  • Exed Exes [say that three times fast!]
  • Wolf of the Battlefield: COMMANDO
  • 1942
  • Ghosts 'n Goblins
  • Black Dragon

I saw that Son Son was playable on the floor but I couldn't make my way over to it. Capcom's booth is really crowded. I'll try again today.

What other arcade classics could Capcom be forgetting?

I definately agree with epic. Their idea of classic is not ours. Snes era capcom games are all win. Definately the golden age of capcom

Great list, Epic. I'm glad 1942 is coming. Gimme Pocket Fighter (I also rock that on Saturn) and I'll be so happy.

To add to Epics list

Cadalacs and Dinosaurs
JoJo's Bizzare Adventure
Saturday Night Slammasters
Any SF Alpha game. No current gen console has a decent port of an Alpha game :(

I believe Fighting Street is already on Wii Virtual Console, its just under TurboGrafx stuff and not the Arcade section. Probably not the arcade perfect version, but its not like Capcom hasn't duplicated releases on VC before.

You know, like every version of Street Fighter II across Genesis, SNES and TG16 ever.

1943 would be nice, too. Or that entire series, it is a damn DVD after all.

I just barely picked up the Classics Collection for the PSP so I could have the entire Ghosts 'n Goblins series in one spot. I'd love more console releases of these games.

Black Dragon is awesome, like if Ghouls and Ghosts went in a more Black Adder direction. It's also got grateful old men.

Hot.

@Epic

I don't have a PS2. Only last-gen console lying around is Dreamcast and that only has Alpha 3 with no online. Gadz.

That Servbot's eyes and pupils are too small, while its mouth is too big, it makes to look stunned.
