First, an announcement. Dark Horse announced several new Star Wars titles here at New York Comic-Con, and there's the next addition to Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic among them -- War!
They say that Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic—War is the perfect entry point into the Star Wars galaxy. It was written by John Jackson Miller, and will go on sale in January 2012.
The Republic and the Mandalorians are at war! Following the charismatic Revan, Jedi are joining the fight, despite the noninterference stance of the Council. One Jedi, however, has found himself on the front lines against his wishes—the peace-loving Zayne Carrick has been drafted!
In related news, the Knights of the Old Republic game is easily the hottest thing here. The floor booth has the biggest line ever. At the KOTOR panel yesterday it was revealed that testers have already logged 4.8 million hours on this game. Wow.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Ok, I'm so confused right now
What are we talking about here?
Star Wars The Old Republic - The MMORPG o A FRIGGIN NEW AWESOME KNIGHTS OF THE OLD REPUBLIC GAME??
Please, please, please be the last
...But if you just somehow revealed a new KOTOR game, fuck yeah
January 2012 is for the comic.
Calm down people, he just means The Old Republic, not a new Knights. If there was a new Knights coming out, we'd know.
I guess Destructoid needs to hire someone that has their facts straight, cause TOR comes out in December, Dale says Jan 2012 for KOTOR. Get your facts straight!! haha
I really had no problem understanding this.
mrrfrrggrrbrrickin' MMOs and mrrrfrrrgrrbrrrble
Star Wars: The Old Republic (SWTOR, or TOR)= MMO in development by Bioware.
The article is about a KOTOR comic tie-in. The confusion is that TOR is being demo'ed? and the author calls it KOTOR as well.
Get over it. Bioware went the MMO route, and they aren't looking back, especially for you.
Why would you be glad that a prestigious rpg developer has devolved into making a very poor WoW clone, a series that's now "press x to awesome", for the "Call of Duty crowd" and is most likely going to fuck up Mass Effect 3 into a poor GoW clone?
I'm sure a lot of fans of KoToR would be glad they aren't making another when ToR shits all over their lore.
I'd say more, but I don't want to ToR spoilers.
I have to be honest, it's comments like yours that make me ashamed to call myself a gamer sometimes. For all of your ridiculous attempt to distill a video game into what you feel is it's entire essence (even if it's transparently extremely biased) you obviously at some point forgot that not everybody has the same likes and dislikes as you have.
So calm down, breath through your nose and out of your mouth, and if you find yourself disliking a game just move on.
