NYC PS3 lines getting re-god-damn-diculous photo

See what you've done Sony? Do you see the carnage and hell you've unleashed? I hope you're happy with yourselves. Look at what my fellow New Yorkers have had to endure thanks to your piece of sh*t launch strategy. You can't even handle a launch right at your own store:

Outside the SonyStyle Store in Midtown Manhattan, several gamers voiced their disgust at the way the line was being managed, complaining of seeing their place in line move further back because of line jumpers.

At the Circuit City in Union Square, several gamers told GameSpot that people have been cutting the line since mid-week, with the most coming in the last hours.

"There's no management of the line here," said one hopeful PS3 owner. "People are just jumping the line, there were even fights last night. It's totally messed up."

Local news stations are also covering the escalating tension, reporting that some gamers have moved about 100 feet backwards since they first got in line.

What's worse, is that even though it has been rather mild here the past few days, the clouds are set to open up and dump a ton of rain on the campers. Here's more:

The weather doesn't look to help matters, either. An overcast morning turned into a blustery afternoon with winds picking up--the leading edge of an incoming thunderstorm. Rain and winds up to 35 miles per hour are expected straight through the console's midnight launch.

When I finally head on over to the lines later tonight, I plan to throw on my riot gear. Things are gonna get a whole lot of ugly here in the Big Apple tonight.

Sure is getting Sony a lot of media exposure, though.

Probably part of thier evil plan.

Trouble is, most of these guys arent gamers - they're ebay resellers.

I bet the news of how much you can sell the ps3 for has driven sales a lot more than you'd think.

All of this madness for a mere $600 profit... If I weren't a lazy gamer, I could make an extra 600 in a day. Maybe if this continues to escalate we might see some Teargassing by he end of tonight...

I said the same thing in another post but why doesn't the store just hand out tickets to the first people in line? This would let the people without tickets know that they will NOT be getting a ps3 at this store.

Respect to the dude hanging outside a Best Buy with the rest of the campers taking names and line positions to avoid fights happening... saw that in a video on Kotoku.

Comeon Sony, is it asking so much to at least send a store representative out once in a while to keep tabs on line positions, record where people are every few ours, and record their potential purchases. Then the 10's of extra consumers sitting in line for no apparent reason can at least have the Sony Rep come back there and say, "look guys, there are 100+ people in front of you, I don't know what you're planning on acheiving here but it ain't happening." If stores were good enough to do that, then the potential for fights and violence would be greatly lowered.

I think a lot of them just dig the publicity, and don't care about the people as much as the free newspaper/video game weblog space.
