Hello, sensible pricing! Nvidia has finally revealed a DirectX11 graphics card that you won't need a second mortgage for. The GeForce GTX 460 costs $199, allowing you to keep up to speed on the computer game front for a price that almost approaches reasonable.
The GTX 460 promises "monster tessellation performance" and has received some pretty positive criticism. It'll ship in two versions: 768MB for $199, or a 1GB for $229. You can get the cheaper one from today, although you'll have to wait for an as-yet-to-be-released date for the pricier alternative.
Expensive graphics cards can sod off, by the way.

Get a xbox
Sweet! I could buy a new console for $199!
PC gaming video cards are four generations a head of the console GPU's now. I really can't stand playing on my PS3 or Xbox360 any more after playing a PC game. It's time for new consoles, not two years from now but right now.
So, when were they going to give you that port of Crysis and Crysis: Warhead again?
BTW... I love my PC games, but the Xbox is really close when it comes to graphics... STILL. I don't think any of these current games take full advanage of these PC graphics cards. Higher resolutions are cool, but I know these cards can handle so much more.
Thanks, I wanted to get a reaction like that :3

Performance has been great for a card at this price, look around at the benchmarks.
5770 retails at about $165 or so, and gets considerably less performance than the 460. It's a video card that will hold it's own, but you are taking a gamble on the frequent unpredictable driver updates ATI does, and the fact that it can't actually run the fancy DX11 features all that well (but it can run them at least). Of course it's fine for the price.
The 460 is much closer to ATI's 5830 and that's exactly what it is designed to go against, which IS priced similarly (but from many bench's I see, 460 tends to out perform). Of course ATI also has eyefinity so if you got multiple monitors that's the way to go.
BlazBlue is coming out for PC later this year :)
