NVIDIA/Capcom bringing Lost Planet to the PC photo

NVIDIA and Capcom are teaming up to port the hit 360 game, Lost Planet, to the PC. It will take full advantage of DirectX 10 and feature Extreme High Definition (or XHD), an NVIDIA buzz word that means the game can run at a resolution of 2560x1600. Yowza!

According to producer Jun Takeuchi, the NVIDIA GPU will be able to pump out amazing graphics and details not seen in the 360 version. Of course, you're going to need all kinds of high end hardware to run the game.

But, damn! Those snow and smoke effects are going to look spiffy, even if your body is too weak to play the game, because you've sold massive amounts of blood and semen to afford a new graphics card and monitor.

The game should be available in Europe and the US this June. Everyone else will have to suffer with the already last-gen Xbox 360 version. Poor things.

Personally....gaming companies should be ashamed for ever allowing themselves to be seduced by any one company to create an "exclusive" game.

Let all gamers have the choice to buy the game for their specific systems......

I can understand if development-wise the gaming company cannot make the game....but it seems more and more games are going multi-platform....as it should be.

Fanboys die.....oh yeah Sony suxorz

@BlindSideDork

I missed that comment "last-gen 360" ... I shed a tear thinking this might be half true already...

/sigh

I guess I better start saving for the X-Box 720

I have an nVidia 7600GT, which uses DX9 - will this game run with DX9, or only DX10? If it'll ONLY run on DX10, I don't think they're gonna have too many copies of this game sold considering those cards are still in the $300-400+ range - for that price, one might as well buy an Xbox 360.

Of course, this game still sucks. I can actually only imagine this game will suck MORE on the PC, as I don't see the controls being workable. My biggest complaint with the game was that aiming was too slow, and I think this factor will piss off all of those gamers that worked so hard to get their fast-twitch reflexes just right while pwning noobs on CS:S.

More alive you mean. Because I'm honestly not seeing any non-PC games to play nowadays.

EVERY, and i mean EVERY game that capcom and konami ports to the PC is CRAP. DMC3, biohazard 4, silent hill, onimusha etc.. horrible graphics and even worse controls. This wont be any better, not even if Nvidia gets involved.

While you may be correct on the rest of them, I remember Silent Hill ports being just fine.
However, this is going to be different.

According to this, it already has mouselook, remappable controls and 360 controller support in it. By the way there are some comparison screenshots in there too. I'm glad I didn't buy the game for my 360 earlier.

Lost Planet is the first proper capcom port. The other "crappy ones" like Resident Evil 4, DMC 3 and Onimusha were done by Ubisoft who made Capcom look utterly crap. Hence they're now going to start porting themselves and stop letting Ubi steal all their profits, while making them look bad. Nice one. And yeah it runs in dx9 too. Though a bit high minimum specs, but crazy considering it's an xbox360 port. (i.e. I can run the demo on a single core pentium 4 vs. the xbox 360 triple core)
