That was your first comment.
You pretty much just called an entire user base idiots with that comment.
"I know. It's hilarious that you're retarded enough to enjoy DKCR."
That was another one of your comments. This time you personally belittled someone for enjoying a game.
What's worse, is that besides your complaints with playing as Donkey Kong, you haven't really given a reason as to why DKCR is inferior to DKC2. No differences in gameplay, story, not even any possible bugs or anything.
All you've said is that DKCR is inferior to DKC2.
I haven't played either game, so tell me, why should I get DKC2 over DKCR?
And I totally accept your dislike of DKCR. However, I'd be much more interested in reading a detailed analysis on what you don't like about the game than a "my opinion is better than yours" debate with people here in the comments.
Just as you want people to accept that you honestly don't like the game instead of calling you a troll, maybe you should start by accept that other people honestly do love the game, instead of implying that that DKCR fans are "blind" and what not
Maybe they aren't blind? Maybe they just see positive things in game that you don't? I'm not the biggest fan of a lot of popular games these days, but I'd never imply that they're something wrong with the people like those games. We just have different tastes.
Lets say you didn't like the taste of broccoli, but you knew some people that did. Would you say the broccoli fans were "blind" or "broccoli fan boys" or whatever, or would you just accept that not everyone likes the same food?
Now I have nothing against trolling, but please understand; your point is stupid. You are complaining about not being allowed to criticize a best selling video game on a website for people who love video games. You can do that, and have done that. And I can tell you that your point is stupid, and that your opinion is wrong, because the first amendment works both ways.
But if you are doing anything other than baiting replies for your own amusement, then you are doing it poorly. Telling DKCR fans how much you hate DKCR in a sales thread is good for nothing but getting angry replies. So please be a troll, because then I can at least assume you aren't actually the type of person you appear to be.
Sure, the game wasn't absolutely perfect, but to me it came pretty close. I had an incredible time with it and don't feel like I wasted my money on it. I think DKCR is a delightful, awesome, wonderful game.
If you don't like the game that's fine, but there's no need to act insulting because of it. We're not wrong about liking it anymore than you are about not liking it.
" "What? You didn't like DKCR? You fool! Your opinion is an incorrect falsehood. I am flabbergasted at your idiocy. You have no soul!"
If someone calls me a douche simply for having a different opinion, of course I'm going to flame bait them and everyone else."
People aren't calling you a douche for having an opinion, they're calling you a douche for presenting your opinion as a fact and for shouting down anyone who has a different opinion than your own, which is ironic considering that's what you're accusing everybody else here of doing.
So you didn't enjoy DKCR? Fine. I have no problem with that. Some people hate Metroid Other M in comparison to Super Metroid and the Prime games. I don't. Does that make me wrong because I enjoy something that a majority of other gamers hate? No, of course it doesn't. My point being you don't like DKCR because it's not DKC2, but that doesn't entitle you to call people retards for liking DKCR, because that's their opinion.
You're either a troll, or a notably pathetic human being, and I'd rather remember you as a troll.
If you are just a pathetic human being, I may be checking your posts in the future out of bile fascination. Look up the term on tvtropes if you don't already know what it means.
Again, in your first comment, you called an entire fanbase of 70+ million users, idiots.
I'm calling you a douche because you called 70+ million people idiots.
That sounds like the general "Wii Owners have shit taste in video games," shtick gamers like to pull.
You know, coupled with outright calling someone retarded for enjoying DKCR.
If I didn't think you were being serious, I'd be laughing too.
@Mortrialus
"How does liking DKC2 over DKCR make me a troll or a pathetic human being? Demystify this for me."
Liking DKC2 over DKCR doesn't make you a pathetic human being. The fact that having that opinion makes you feel like you're better than an entire group of people makes you a pathetic human being. If you had simply stated that you were shocked that DKCR sold so well given that you didn't enjoy it as much as DKC2,that would have been fine. Instead you insulted everyone who owns a Wii and bought DKCR.
Also, why would you expect DKC2 to outsell DKCR? Everyone who wanted to play DKC2 probably did so 10 years ago, and I bet a large majority of those people were excited to play a new DK game, not a virtual console port. Let's be realistic here, DKCR sold so well specifically because of how awesome the DKC games were.
I only offered an opinion, no need to get personal. Do you insult the intelligence of everyone who disagrees with you? How very mature.
Your first statement was insulting to everyone that owns a wii and was deliberately inflammatory, and sparked the reaction that you're getting now. You then went on to insult the reviewer calling him a "chucklehead". You ask me where you presented your opinion as fact? Here's my proof:
"1. DKCR is inferior to DKC2. Its so inferior that every time I start playing it, I immediately put it down."
This is you presenting your opinion as fact. You are inferring by the tone of your sentence that you are right. You aren't saying "in my opinion" or simply just saying "I don't like the game" which in itself would be acceptable, you're lording your vitriolic bullshit over everyone. You criticise others or being "elitist" yet you yourself are acting like the most elitist, entitled twat on the internet and shout down anyone who disagrees with your opinion, which is obviously gospel. Please, God of the Internet, tell me more facts about gaming, I'm so naive in these matters!
"3. No one is being critical enough regarding the game's many faults. The hype train in on full throttle here and everywhere else. I don't understand this mentality that if the overwhelming majority agree than all other opinions should be silenced as TROLLS."
Also, you don't seem to understand the concept of opinions or how to look at a review subjectively. Something I'm sure if you had the reading aptitude beyond that of a flailing retard would be immediately obvious to you. Instead you hide behind the anonymity of the internet flinging shit at strangers. Truly pathetic.
Epic Mickey failed in many regards, but they were mostly mechanical. The art design, plot, and level concepts were outstanding. Some of the bosses were incredibly fun as well. As many have stated, however, the camera was terrible in any locations containing walls or obstacles, and the menu system was a plodding, unresponsive nightmare. I hope they make a sequel, and use a different engine, and just make control and navigation feel tighter all across the board. Even navigating dialogue boxes with NPCs was a chore.
I love Donkey Kong Country Returns because in my opinion, compared to the originals:
1. The enemies are better designed and more imaginative. The Kremlings were always kind of dull.
2. No more ugly prerendered graphics. This clamor for that old style is nostalgia gone haywire. PRG looked amazing around twenty years ago, but the cleaner cartoon look is better nowadays, because it allows for smoother movements, and a more vibrant look overall. No more guessing whether or not that ledge is a legitimate platform or a shortcut to losing three levels' worth of progress!
3. Better level design. More of a reliance on skill rather than on memorization of cheap hazards (particularly DKC2, a game I still love despite its flaws).
4. More level diversity. Lots of crazy stuff - outrunning boulders, jumping around collapsing pillars, escaping a swarm of bugs, timing yourself through musical instruments. There's just so much more to do this time. Every level is a step forward. I loved the interaction between foreground and background too, and how it didn't feel gimmicky, but like a natural extension of the worlds.
5. Outstanding music. It's extremely fresh, while also firmly rooted in the nostalgia of the earlier DKC games. If you complain about the music here, I think you must have hated the music in the original, too.
6. The save system is relegated to the background. It's now a simple thing of beauty. No more punishing the player by erasing well-earned progress on earlier levels just because they can't pass a particularly tough one later on. No more using the save system as a game in itself. Just let us play the game!
7. The mine cart levels are simultaneously harder and less cheap. How'd they manage that?
See, I like having opinions too!
Actually, saying: "DKCR is inferior to DKC2. Its so inferior that every time I start playing it, I immediately put it down." does make it sound like you presenting it as a fact. If you had instead said "In my opinion, DKCR is inferior to DKC2. I find it to be so inferior that every time I start playing it, I immediately put it down." then you'd be giving "an anecdotal account of [your] experience."
WHY ISN'T SHARK! SHARK! ON THIS LIST?!?!!
