GT5 sold 560k in December and 1.14m all time sales up until end of December.
To be fair though, GT has never sold massive numbers in the US. GT4 for example sold 2.8m in the US and a whopping 6.5m in Europe.

Epic Micky was alright.
I think it was just a bit to heady for kids and half the game was working against the camera. Its not like I haven't played a game with a bad camera before, though.
Maybe if they had dropped the vanilla platforming sections - I mean, really, platforming wasn't that great in this game - and focused more on the Zelda/Deus Ex vibe without being so OCD with the quest log, it would have been better off.
There were good ideas and a fun game in there, it just needed more time in the oven.
That and to not run on the Gamebryo engine.

yes we are finally pirating gt5 it took some time but now its playable just like the other 3.50/3.55 titles
I'm glad that Epic Mickey sold well. It's very rare for a 3rd party Wii game to sell that well, and with these high sales, Disney will want Junction Point to make a sequel, which means Warren Spector can polish it up and make it better. Also, NEW DUCK TALES!!!!!
Damn! The DS is the only system to have a successor announced, yet it is the top selling system in December!
Happy to hear that about Epic Mickey. IMO people are way over critical about that game.It's not perfect but it's a really good game.
Epic Mickey is a little dull, and a little dated. But it's still a fun game. I've definitely played modern games before (Zelda, Mario, everything else), and I still enjoyed it.
If you were looking for laid back platforming mixed with exploration, nothing else really offered that this holiday season. And playing as Mickey as fun. The game could have been better, but I'm still glad I got it, and it deserves the sales a hell of a lot more than Generic FPS #3,072.

If they never touched a 3D Zelda, Mario or even experienced Okami, obviously they'd love Epic Mickey. The game is like a throwback to the classic platformers of 1996, when Mario was first getting into the field.
Not actually as bad as I thought for the PS3, considering the 360 had Kinect and all the momentum from a redesign and Halo. I believe the PS3 just barely sold more units worldwide than the 360, which shows you just how good a 4Q it was for Microsoft.
I've very interested to see how 1Q ends up for 2011, since it's basically going to be Kinect versus PS3 core exclusives, and I'm curious to see if the Wii dips again after the holidays.

@KingSigy - Mario's been rocking it since 1985. Even compared to the original Super Mario Bros., the 2D platforming segments in Epic Mickey feel pretty plain. They just have the classic animation style going for them, really. That's all I liked from the 2D stuff.
@ brod- I think a straight HD port to the PS3 is possible, but with sales like that, and Spector's insistence that the game is nearly flawless, I wouldn't expect many "improvements".

Well if you notice, there's more 3rd Party Wii games in the top 10, than actual ones from Nintendo, so you can't really say its rare anymore. Plus THQ's uDraw gaming tablet was just outside the top 10 with almost a million units sold as well. So all in all, I'd say it was a really good holiday season for 3rd Party on the Wii last year. Lets just hope it continues!

Kudos to Epic Mickey. It falls under the same umbrella as Double Fine to me; I grew to dislike Brutal Legend after a few hours (read: when the RTS started) but I never regretted paying full price. Hell, I'd pay full price again even knowing I don't like it. I see it as supporting Double Fine more than supporting the individual game, and I know Tim Schafer will pull another diamond from his ass if he has enough money to keep making IPs. And so with Spector (Spektor? I dunno, too lazy to google) goes the same sentiment. There's enough regurgitated IPs out there to focus our hazy "gamer-hate" on; that being said, his [Spector] refusal to acknowledge any faults in Epic Mickey makes it a bit grating. Then again, ole Mr. Schafer told us we were playing his game wrong.
People, I couldn't care less that Epic Mickey isn't the perfect game Spector makes it out to be. I'm just glad that we're probably going to see more B&W Mickey Mouse together with Oswald, and not see Oswald fade into obscurety. We might even see Warren bring the stories of Carl Barks Scrooge McDuck / Ducktales into videogames! OH MAN.

I won't deny Diddys Quest is a good game but I like to be able to play as Donkey Kong in a Donkey Kong Country game. DKCR takes all the good stuff from the earlier games and turns it up to 11. You really expect a Virtual Console game to be a top selling game?

I'm sure that people that are not into videogames are going to look at all the DKCR advertisement Nintendo put out and think to themselves "Wow, this game looks fun! I'm totally going to use Nintendo's half-good Virtual Console service and get one out of the three prequels, because somehow I can figure out how much better THAT game is".

I apologize , I thought you were being a jerk but after reading some of your posts I can see that you just really love DKC2. I can't fault you for that, it is an awesome classic. I just don't see why you are mad that DKCR is doing well. DKCR is about as faithful to the source material as it could be (without the Kremlings). Plus it has revived interest in the franchise. I know you say you don't like playing as Donkey Kong but that was one thing about the sequels that I didn't like(not playing as DK). It's Donkey Kong Country, you should be able to play as the title character.
