Perhaps inspired by the Nintendo 64 controller bong we saw some time ago, Gizmodo reader James tried to make an even more compact one based on the classic Nintendo Entertainment System controller. Classy.
It doesn't look like the most effective bong ever, but kudos on the "cord" there. And being plastic, it's probably not the safest -- for both heat and plastic toxin reasons. But making an NES bong will get you 15 minutes of fame on games blogs.
Hey, let's all dig out obsolete game peripherals and make drug tools out of them!

Definitely more of a pipe. Great gimmick though.
You pretty much just stuck the barrel of the zapper in your mouth and pulled the trigger as we had an electric lighter working within to light the herb. We had trouble with some plastic beginning to melt in on early experiments, so we refined it with another zapper we acquired and it worked like a dream.

A friend of mind did similar with a Sobe bottle years ago, not positive how they built it but it would be filled with water that they'd drain away as they lit the bowl. Probably less classy but it sure hit hard.
