So Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto IV: The Lost and Damned is available now on Xbox LIVE Marketplace. Is it 1600 MS Points well spent? Don't know yet; we have Conrad Zimmerman on the case, and we won't let him sleep until he's finishing playing the content for our upcoming review.
But even if you want to play it regardless, maybe you can't. Maybe you don't have an Xbox 360, or maybe you're stuck at work. Rockstar's got you covered. They've thrown together this promotion tongue-in-cheek "Weazel News" promo package, with an eye on Liberty City's growing gang violence problem. These guys listen to heavy metal music; it's bad, bad news.
Conrad has finished something like four hours of the game so far, and while he's enjoying it, he whined a bit that some missions were difficult. Has anyone else downloaded The Lost and Damned, and if so, what do you think so far?
As already posted in one of the c-blogs, I'm now about 4 hours in and it's just great. I absolutley love it.
The first time "Wanted Dead Or Alive" played on the radio and I was cruising around with the gang members was just epic.
The funny thing is that the only complaint I have at the moment is, that it's too easy. It's been some time since I played GTA IV so I got into the first fight with no cover or clue what to do (taking cover with the A Button doesn't work so well). I took MANY bullets and only lost about half my health, even after 4 hours it's not that much more difficult. Haven't died once or had to restart a mission yet, only lost a race. At this point in GTA IV I already had to retry missions. Overall it's much more forgiving than GTA IV, I think (for example the enemies could get away much further in chase missions without failing it). And the new multiplayer options are great as well. The character models and new graphic style (HUD, post-processing) fit the multiplayer much better in my opinion.
Dear shadpreston. I appreciate your comment. Apparently you did not understand my slightly ironic (see what I did there?) comment about my inability to get into GTA IV's controls again directly after this long time. I considered it quite clever and funny to tell such an anecdote. Therefore I'm very sorry you didn't got it. It's okay though.
Have a nice day, Sir.
Oh gawd, I forgot all about the movie the first time because I was laughing my ass off at the headlines going through the ticker. "Stimulus Package Includes Vibrator" FTW
I disagree the game has lost its essence. Personally, Ive played for well over 150 hours and its the same as every other GTA except more finely tuned and realistic. But, I suppose if you dont like realistic, definitely go for SR2. After playing GTA IV, I couldnt play SR2. And I loved the original.
That all being said, I love this new episode. Everything about it. And there are more enemies, but I have only died once, about 4 hours in, when I was being struck with baseball bats by junkies who snuck up behind me.
Damn ice fiends, with their bats and addictions...
Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!

I'm waiting to hear from a trusted source if this DLC is worth $20 or not....or in my case $70-80 since I'd have to buy the game again
Have a nice day, Sir.
can you buy stuff with a silver account?
