How about ban the sales of the GUNS he used to actually kill and maim? Not the media intake that he used!
Hell I heard the man ate a peanut butter sandwhich before he shot everyone so peanut butter and bread must make a DEADLY combination!
The nerve of some people....how DARE they decline people such amazing games as Modern Warfare 2 and Sniper:Ghost Warior? Oh and CS:S as well. Norway is a country ran by pussies and lenient lefties. I feel bad for the citizens that have to put up with all this bologna.
Many air soft guns are exact repliacs down to weight and how you reload. The magazine/clip would usually be in the same place and look very similar.
Think of this from their point of view. They don't have a lot of crime in Norway. Things like this that would be newsworthy for a couple of days and forgotten in the US are basically the equivalent of their own 9-11 over there. There's going to be quite a bit of social fallout.
Is banning games the answer? No. But I understand why they're doing it.
Back to my 2cents though, worse things have been happening since we climbed down from the trees and walked on two legs, and video games were not their in Hitler's hands, or the Spanish Inquisition, or Jack the Ripper, or Ted Bundy, or Charlie Manson. Do not pretend that video games has given Man his deadly nature, he had it before them, and he will have it after them.
In some concession to the Coop Norway side of the fence, as an owner and regular (legal and licensed) user of nice .40 handgun for sport and self defense, some games can really teach you the dark side of engagement. For instance, modded out, Fallout New Vegas can be pretty frighteningly realistic as a tactical trainer.
Bannable, though? I say no.
Then again, since it even affected the Royal Family it's a wonder that they didn't send the Norwegian Army out to kill everyone who worked on Modern Warfare 2.
Personaly I think removing games of the shelfs is a kneejerk reaction, and many feel it's just a cheap pr stunt from them.
Talvisota (The Winter War)
Trollhunter
Let The Right One In
The Varg Veum series
The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo trilogy (or just the first one)
"A polite society, is an armed society."
That is to say, if more people are legally trained and carrying firearms, one nut can't "go to town" and wipe out a crap-ton of people so easy.
Either ban and remove ALL guns from everyone, OR, have enough people armed and trained to moderate the damage when someone goes postal.
Good logic, children. Just because they want to ban something YOU like, you wail and cry, but it's okay to ban something that actually has a use in the real world (for saving lives, like guns can) as long as your precious CoD isn't touched.
Imagine a bill that forbid people who are registered to own firearms to buy video games. Wouldn't that be something!
*rolls eyes* I'm seriously happy we can all act like responsible adults about this and let people make their own decisions *snicker*
Yeah, video games. The source of all fucking evil that exists on this planet. They even existed since the beginning of time but the devil covered the tracks of video games pretty good in history. Thinking of it, even Egyptians had lolcatz!
war war never changes.
man will destroy the earth.
all chapters in mankind are bloody ones.
and even if the world ended war would because as long as man exists there will be war...
That's what I was just thinking. I've been to the ones in Sweden, they just grocery stores, so it's not that big a deal to me. It would be like if 7-11 banned violent video games, no one would really care since its just a store where you buy slurpees.
They still sell Surge in Norway, by the way.
... Yes, one internationally owned chain of stores choosing to pull some games for a limited time period certainly shows that Norway isn't handling the situation very well at all.
@commandant oreo
Leftist pussies, all of them!
Fuck our values, we should grow some balls, scream for revenge, start a few wars, torture some folks and conduct close surveillance on our own citizens instead.
Just... No. That ain't how it works. Tying connections across rated platforms and terrorism/ mass murderers is irrelevant. Ah, yes, he owned a farm. Maybe we could make a point out of outlawing agriculture? I'm quite sure all terrorists as a whole need to eat.
FYI
ABB(acro.) has been represented by FOX as someone with connections to Taliban, Al Qaida - scrach that, ISLAM.
This is NOT the case.
I feel shamed to say that this man was an ethnic Norwegian, as I, appearance and all - and did what he did in the name of European heritage.
Labelling any, and all foreign cultural integration with ours as... Disgraceful. He felt the need to justify his actions in a manuscript - not unlike Hitler whom in many a conference had his audience swooning and by the balls.
He deliberately murdered people whom I call children - by the use of weaponry and ammunition illicit in our country - to do what? He hated the labour party, that's for sure.
I'm starting to feel a bit winded, even if there's a lot more on my heart I'd like to say- I am getting to worked up.
In closing:
"If one man can show such hatred, imagine how much love we can create together." - a girl whose name I don't recall.
