Virtua Fighter 5, or as I like to call it: The Only Reason To Own A PS3, looks amazing. I know I have said in the past that it looks like a total rehash of Virtua Fighter 4, but I'm beginning to think that I just don't care.
The above ad is proof that Sega simply could not add any more "pretty" to this game. In the spirit of the Turducken, Tyra Banks and this goat, adding any more "gorgeous" to a game this overstuffed with "beauty" would cause it to burst, raining it's sticky, electronic guts down on a village of innocent British farmers.
That day would become known as The Feast of Saint Tyris Flare, and every year schoolchildren would gather 'round the mason's tent to hear the village elders tell stories of the day that Sega crammed just a wee bit too much "radical" into a game, only to have it splay open at the seams, sending a torrent of electronic aesthesia down onto the township, where it was responsible for the drowning deaths of seven young boys and a calf named Axel. It would undoubtedly be the worst English holiday in existence, but unlike Guy Fawkes Day, it would have a quality game associated with it.
(Editor's Note: Kid Chameleon was originally the story of Guy Fawkes Day, but when it was revealed that Guy Fawkes never once turned into a samurai or a dragon, that idea was scrapped. Sega then used their original design spec, which modelled the game's story after Ghandi's ascension to the throne of India. -- Nex)
MGS4 is probably coming out for the xbox after the PS2 launch, square is liking working with microsoft, and rumors of DMC going to the 360 are on and off.
Am I the only one here that think this games blows moneky nuts? This and Tekken. Two games that killed the fighting generas (bad spelling I know haha). Owell people want pretty graphics and no depth then let them have it. Yes you can graple 15 million different ways and touch your toes while picking your nose, but who the fuck cares, I want something new and that doesnt take 5 years to learn all the movies JUST to have fun
I meant it in a way that the move list takes to long to remember, not that thats a BAD thing, but especially with tekken, it doesnt feel like each button press is DOING something. Its more like your just putting in a full length button configuration just to do simple moves.
And as far as depth, those games TRY and put depth in but it just always seems like their selling everyone short. Look at all of the tekken games, what really has changed since the first one other then the graphics? The game doesnt suck, but its like meaningless hollywood movie sequels
@SpencerGifts
I can understand the sentiment for not wanting to learn so many moves but it really isn't that hard when there is a tutorial mode that has you go through all of the moves. Its a lot harder for people like me because I had to learn at the arcade where everyone knows how to play a lot better and started monthes before me. If you want to know some more about VF5 then go here Link to a website
I said a lot about VF5 but I could say more if need be. And in a more grammaticaly correct fashion.
I agree with SpencerGifts. Both Virtua Fighter and Tekken put too much emphasize on visual realism and too little on fluid game play. WTB Marvel vs. Capcom 3 for XBox 360
i must say Soul Caliber > Virtual Fighter. I hate how you spring back to one frickin' stance after everything! Like you're some human spring and the same stance all the time doesn't work in every situation. I know every character is suppose to be like a master at one type of martial art, but come on.
Id rather play Soul Caliber fuck lol atleast that was a little more fast paced. Its not that I HATE tekken or VF I just dont like the fact, even with the tutorial, that you have to sit and devote your life to a game when all I have time for now adays is to be able to pick up the controller and play for 20-30 minutes at a time. As we get older things get more important, like a job, and a girlfriend. I dont have the time like I did when I was a kid and play for hours on hours. Ever wonder why when your on LIVE thats why the ONLY people on there that have HIGH gamer scores or seem WAY to good at a game play it for 16 hours a day?
One of the reasons I cant wait for crackdown is because I can pick it up, screw around for a few, and then go back to my real life and not feel like I need to spend to much time with it. Marvel vs Capcom was perfect because it didnt take forever to learn, and it was FAST paced and fun to boot. Bring on a new one of those type of games and Im there
