North America gets some sweet new Mega Man merch photo

Capcom has been working with FAB Starpoint on some new Mega Man merchandise so those of us in North America don't have to be so jealous of all the cool stuff they always get in Japan. Kramez over at Capcom-Unity has given us a peek at what to expect when the goods start hitting retailers and Capcom's online shop.

There's a messenger bag, a PSP case, a couple of chain wallets, a journal and a sketchbook to start things off. Some of it is looking pretty rad, and I wouldn't mind having that sketchbook in particular. You can check it all out in the gallery below. See anything you like?

I'll take a wallet sans the chain.

That's just asking to get your lunch money taken.

I'll take RenegadePanda's chain and three sketchbooks.

For some reason when I saw the headline I was really expecting Holmes to be reporting this. Dunno why but for some reason I associate the two.

Sorry Topher. Yet another time when I forget you like games too.

Nice, I would definitely buy the messenger bag and the journal.

The messenger bag is a bit garish for me but that sketchbook is hot.

Everything that's not just the Mega Man sprite looks pretty terrible on these!

I'd like the PSP case... even though the game never came out for the PSP :(

The messenger bag looks really nice as well. It'd be great to show off my class on the way to class.

Who the hell still buys wallets with chains? What, do you think somebody's going to steal your subway stamps?

Those would be cool without the words on it. "I play on hard"? "8 bit 4 life"? Anybody who actually played NES during its prime is too old for this shit.

Sweet indeed!

As cheesy as chain wallets are... I dunno, the 8bit Mega Man reverses that cheese and then stacks on some additional awesome.

Do not want.

Someone spent about half a minute designing each of these, obnoxious phrase included.

I'd easily rock the messenger bag for sure.

Messenger bag FTW, at least for me. The phrase is a little much, but I can't get enough of the original blue bomber.

If they had a shirt or bag with my tattoo on it (1up head), I'd be all about it.

The-Excel, no, and it's bugging the shit out of me. It's going to turn out to be something dumb, most likely, but I still need to know this secret.

No love for Proto Man up in this?

Ew, no. Ugly design is ugly design, no matter what the subject matter is. I fucking love Bruce Lee movies, but I wouldn't be caught in a million years wearing some of the Bruce Lee shirts I see in stores.

And it's a shame because pixel art can lend itself really well to some neat, Swedish modern influenced design.

Hell yeah, Messenger Bag.

And am I the only one who thinks it's weird that they have a Megaman 9 PSP case? I mean, the game wasn't even on that system.

I guess it's nearly impossible for anyone to design a subtle, simply stated video game item these days. There's always gotta be some stupid-assed caption or phrase that, as has already been said, is so age-inappropriate for the target demo that it just makes the item that much stupider.

Why are the indie shirt designers the only ones that get this?

Sketchbook looks nice, but I can't draw a straight line to save my life. So messenger bag. PSP case also looks spiffy, am I the only one thinking that way?
