No Whammies: Ubisoft reveals three classic game show titles photo

The best game show ever, without a doubt, is Press Your Luck. Why? The Whammy. Maybe I’m dating myself here (the show went off the air in 1986), but if you know what I’m talking about… you know what I’m talking about.

Ubisoft definitely knows what I’m talking about, as they’re planning to bring three classic game show titles to the Nintendo DS, Wii, and Windows PC this year. Press Your Luck 2010 (“No Whammies! Big money!”) will be joined by Family Feud 2010 and an “all new expanded version” of The Price is Right 2010.

It should be noted that Ubisoft’s last version of Price is Right for the Wii was abysmally low budget, almost the point where it was unplayable. We’d like to think they put a little bit more work into these new titles, as we’re excited by the idea of an animated videogame Whammy.

The games will be displayed at E3 next week exclusively at the Target Bullseye Longue; we’ll get back to you on the Whammy situation when we get more info.

i liked the Super-man Whammy the best. As a kid I wanted to win a TV and VHS player for my room from that show.

Knowing UBI, this will be like annual sports titles. Get ready for Family Feud 2011 and the Price is Right 2015

A Press Your Luck game? Will they allow the old mathematical pattern in determining bonus rounds? Cause I'm sure Michael Larson (if he were still alive) would love it.

As a 30 yr old gamer, yes I remember whammies. Even If the game sucked I'd probably still buy on the novelty of Whammys alone

Press Your Luck was truly a great show; I used to watch it daily. The modern remake (called [i]Whammy![i]) paled in comparison.

Oh good! I was wondering when Press Your Luck's good name would be pissed all over by some half-assed video game rendition.

Oh my goodness. I will buy Press Your Luck. I loved that show, and I'm not even a fogey like you, Nick.

If I ever play this, the first person that continually yells, "Big bucks! Big bucks! Big bucks!" is going to have the Wiimote shoved so far up his or her ass that their whole body will be a motion controller.
