But it's ok. If for some reason Xbox360/PS3 aren't profitable anymore, you'll naturally return to the PC, hoping to gain your fans again.
Fat. Fucking. Chance.
After all, maybe facebook will save PC Gaming right Mark Rein? It's such a cesspool right now, with the so called ''piracy'' going on.
Pagh. I will be the first to deny you, and many more will.
2c.
Well actually no.
Seriosuly, guys, let's just leave people's preferences for what gaming system/control scheme to themselves? Its all just a matter of opinion.
Then again, people will completely ignore the rest of this post and will take my comment too seriously, and start an actual flame war.
Anyway, PC's require a demo much more then a console player requires one. PC gamers won't have total confirmation that it even runs on their computer at all without one, whereas console gamers just want to see if it's fun or not. Maybe there's a good reason people think not giving demo's for PC games is a stupid idea.
Honestly, the whole PC not getting a demo thing wouldn't really bother me at all if it weren't for the fact that I now have no idea if the game will even run on my system. When I first built my PC a year and a half ago it refused to load any source games past the Valve logo. My 4 year old GenericStoreBrand PC loaded it, but was too old to handle it on anything past medium settings. This resolved itself over time (probably due to a graphics driver update), but it demonstrates the point.
I feel almost like it should a necessity to release some sort of demo for higher-profile PC games because no one computer will run every game, no matter how powerful. Even if it's not really a demo, but some sort of test-build where all it does is load the game engine and let you walk around an empty level. I just want to know that I'm not paying $50-$60 on a game I can't load or play, nor can I return to the store/Steam because, by nature, it's a PC game.
Anyone remember way back when Black Ops launched? When at least half of everyone who bought it on PC either couldn't run it decently or play it at all? A demo or test-build might have helped to prevent that debacle. Might be a good idea to make one.
Also, *$50-60 FOR a game
Edit button, I miss you. Our time together was short but sweet.
Despite a few PC gamers being actually like that, most aren't. As a long-time PC gamer that had to deal with people of the gaming community for over 4 years (online and offline), I say with certainty that PC gamers are actually the most mature. Your comment alone is a testament to that :P.
Anyway, on topic: I personally never download demos so this doesn't mean anything to me, but it still sucks and the snarky comment is kind of meh.
OK, I can't rent the game, I do not have a demo, I can't test multiplayer with the copy of a friend. What the fuck do you suggest then?
"To all PC gamers: I know I wouldn't have a career without your support over the years, but I've outgrown you now. Suck it! Also, buy Bulletstorm anyway, losers!"
Also, lol @ everyone who thinks console gamers wouldn't flock to piracy like flies to sun-ripened mayonnaise if it were as simple as it is on a PC.
I see the developers are fucking us over again. When have they not? I mean com'n - Even VALVe the greatest developer of all time... gives us a little surprise buttsex.
PS. I'm just gonna DL the demo on my 360... as soon a I dust it off.
Bulletstorm looks lame, the Unreal *yawn* Engine, and EA publishing. That's 3 strikes.
Piracy is all over the Xbox just as much as on the PC so WHYYYYYYY does the console gamers get everything when they are just as Pirated. I think its
A: Dev are lazy & just dont want to put in the Work
I dont trust Cliffy B at all even if he gives us the game. It most likely will be a bad Console port & they will most likely give us no Support at all anyways. Look at Gears 1. They gave us Gears 1 & not Gears 2 & 3? Cliffy B will Remember PC gamers & 4LC4PON3 & if he wants a 1 on 1 with me lets do it.
I mean, any PC gamer would know that Epic simply doesn't care about PC anymore but...
- uber powerful machine for amazing graphics
- makes your console look like a babies toy
- faster and more accurate controls
- amazing exclusives like farmville
- all the games are free!
don't worry cliffy, i'll still buy bulletstorm, not even you can put me off a PCF game. and yes i will be pirating for demo play.
"aside from hardcore Democrats, PC gamers are the biggest bunch of intellectually dishonest crybabies on the internets"
...
What?
Most PC gamers who threaten theyll pirate do so anyway, only now they think they have a moral reason to. PC gamers with morals will prolly either crack out the vasaline or buy the console version of which is probably what the publishers actually want as they make more money per game with the Console version.
I expect they are rubbing their hands in glee with all the comments here saying that they wont buy the PC the version but the console port instead. You go chaps your really sticking it to the man!
It would take centuries to crack the layers of rationalizations that pirates have built up in order to get them to realize this. For in the pirate's world, stealing is okay if the publisher/developer does anything--anything!--to even slightly inconvenience him, and consequences be damned.
They are sloppy, uninspired and most of all a-holes whenever they can, it seems. I will not support them nor would let this slip by in real life. They are a kiddie game company now focused on money only, as they proven and stated openly everywhere.
So the nerve of calling your customer a douche (while simultaneously topping that list in the same sentence) is not even funny. Maybe the more laughable thing would be their games that rely on old tech wrapped-up as new, rehashing the same models and ideas and surmising the gameplay to strafing and two buttons. They have nothing to show for their money and size, and lying about it through marketing and cheap statements like that will make even more people hate them.
Everyone else obviously doesn't have a clue and should read about it if they care at all.
Funny how the only gamers I know like that are console users. Sloppy, not focused, whining at the difficulty of moving and aiming with more than two thumbs, technically inept to even troubleshoot their TV, let alone the DVD player, intellectually challenged if it is not a one button operation, talk trash about things they know little or nothing about because they can't be bothered but like to bitch when nobody knowledgeable is around, have an atrocious capacity for moving in any game environment with more than 2 dimensions...
There's loads of it, and even though you can find people like that on PC, the core usage of the platform hampers that kind of behavior because you can't be a couch dweller with a remote in front of it. So less sophisticated people don't do well, usually moving to consoles and jerking off their pecker how that experience is actually better, faster, more good looking, better controlled, more open (that's a laugh), more balanced (amother laugh), has no bugs or piracy (third's a charm) and other uneducated guesses.
So yeah, people are stirred by such nonsense. It's like trying to play football with firsttimers who yell at you why you didn't pass the ball when they were in offside. And also cocks!
I've lost faith in Epic since they released GoW, I used to be a freaking Epic fanboy in the 2000s, But since Legend fell apart, I really do not care about them. In fact, I despise them.
And therefore, I am going to pirate Bulletstorm, And depending on how they behave towards all the pirating, I may even use other forms of revenge... *Evil Laugh*
But seriously, If the game is good, I'll buy it.
