I don't really see it, how else are players supposed to know if the game will smoothly run on your specific PC if not through a demo? You can't trust recommended requirements.
Furthermore, this was meant to be Epics big "we still care about the PC" game, and then they come out with a statement like this? Then they wonder why some people with morals will still pirate games on the PC? Because they get treated like second class citizens...

Yes it sucks, but I think it's bigger than that. It's basically saying Epic games saying "We don't care about the PC version". Developers must know that a positive demo helps sales, so why not make the effort to put a PC demo together. Is it really that hard, or do they just not give a shit?

Well, it's been a long time since I cared about anything CliffyB has done, so I fucked if I'm going to care now. I won't be grumpy when I'm playing Dead Space 2 rather than an overhyped unnoffical spin off of Painkiller.
a demo for pc is more needed than a console one since it gives you a good indication of how well it runs if you have a slower pc than again you can always pirate it with the same ease and still buy it if you like to support the publisher and and hope to help get more games to the pc

I can understand people not being pleased. Its like saying "Haha you guys are jerks for looking forward to my game". Not too classy. Any one group of platform owners would be "grumpy" if everyone else got something they didn't.

As if my PC could run this, let alone diarrhea dumping all over itself attempting to show the title screen. I'll have to try the PS3 demo, hopefully PS3 owners haven't been delt the tail-end of the horse as with most other ports.
Actually, I imagine because of this particular stance, a good portion of people who pirate games do it as their only means of attaining something resembling a demo. No demo for your potentially-shitty-yet-somewhat-interesting game? OK, we'll find another way.

I prefer my FPS on consoles, and this game interests me alot. Still, I think that anyone that justifies pirating this game because of what someone tweets needs to eat a dick.

Luckily I get the 360 demo, kinda bullshit that PC gamers are getting shafted, though. This seems like a game that people might want to check if their PCs can even handle it....it sure is pretty.

That really does suck for PC gamers, since a PC demo is kind of important if you're unsure whether your box will be able to run said game. I mean, we console gamers can at least RENT games for demonstration purposes without paying full price, something PC gamers can't (legally) do.
PC gamers -- the ones who don't pirate -- really do get the shaft these days, which is one of the main reasons I haven't bothered fixing my dead PC.

Funny. This will cause an uprise in piracy for the PC version of the game. Then EA or Cliffy or whoever will bitch about how poorly the PC version of this game sold and blame it on piracy. All because they wouldn't give PC gamers a demo of a game built on an engine that is designed for multi platforms.
It has been known for years that Epic no longer has the talent to hang with the big boys of PC gaming (see: Blizzard, Valve).

Why bother? The majority of PC gamers will just torrent it, play it beginning to end and put 24 hours online, then turn around and say it's shit and generic, and that they're glad they didn't buy it.

that just sucks. im really looking forward to the game, its just a shame i cant play it on the system cliffy helped me enjoy the most. i wont pirate it, but thats just a dick move to a loyal fan.

As if there's no piracy with X360 and now PS3 as well... I was undecided if I should buy this game, specially considering the many very promising games that will come out this year. But after this completely jerk comment by CliffyB, I guess I'll play the "extended demo". And not on PC, but on my X360 (or even on my PS3, if the JB is stable by the that time). :)

well, thing is, since the uprise of multi-platform FPS the gameplay of FPS games change a lot to be played better with gamepad. Not surprising, that you like playing them on a console
