I don't really see it, how else are players supposed to know if the game will smoothly run on your specific PC if not through a demo? You can't trust recommended requirements.
Furthermore, this was meant to be Epics big "we still care about the PC" game, and then they come out with a statement like this? Then they wonder why some people with morals will still pirate games on the PC? Because they get treated like second class citizens...
There's really no excuse for not releasing a demo on the PC, in fact it seems really baffling that, it being a new IP, they don't release a demo, and then insult the very people that might actually want to buy the game...

Second class citizens! Oh come off it!
Hell, I've done it and my reasoning was as stated above; I need to know how well it (whatever the game may be) will jive with all the random assortment of plastic and silicone and various other arcane constructs that make up my computer. That, and see if it's worth my money.
Runs great? Cool game? CHA-CHING!
The sad part is, I think most developers are keen to this, and therefore use it as a scapegoat for avoiding the man hours/money/virgin sacrifices/whatever needed to compose a demo.
You know, the whole Why-bother-when-they're-just-gonna-pirate-it-anyway mentality.
Can't they just pirate the game and call it a demo. That what they usually do.
Like 360 version is not going to be leaked a week earlier than PC one, as it always happens.
Thing is, lack of demo is one of the reasons for illegal downloading (i'm not saying "piracy", since a person is not necessarily going to not buy it after that), so i hope PC demo is a thing, just happening later. Even if game feels right on the console, PC version is always different, so people might want to test it before buying
Yep. The most you can do this gen is hand over some lube, spread your buttcheeks open and pray that they'll go easy on you D:
Wow - such a mature comment! I bet that little post is easy for you to say.
We really do get screwed over a lot as PC gamers, whether you recognize that or not. Like, really, REALLY screwed over, and over, and over. We're also not all "elitists", nor do we all torrent games, just for the record.
Why you raging bro?
No demo for Bulletstorm on the PC but there's a console demo.
PC Gamers aren't happy they can't try the game out.
Everyone then says "Shut the fuck up and stop whinging, you fucking elitists!"
Cool, remind me never to bring up the absence of RDR, Alan Wake and LA Noire to anyone. Wouldn't want to get called a whiner because I can't play games on my platform of choice because of lazy developers...
Also, for every "grumpy PC gaming elitist", there are 5 "whiny 12 year old console snobs" ready to yell "FAG!!1!" through your XBL headset. PC gamers really aren't as bad as people like to exaggerate.
Exactly, those guys make fun games, period. I already have it preordered, the demo is just a treat to give me a taste before Feb22nd.
Luckily I get the 360 demo, kinda bullshit that PC gamers are getting shafted, though. This seems like a game that people might want to check if their PCs can even handle it....it sure is pretty.
PC gamers -- the ones who don't pirate -- really do get the shaft these days, which is one of the main reasons I haven't bothered fixing my dead PC.
What's wrong with what he said? It's not like he said "FPS games are better on consoles". It's his personal preference, just like yours is.
Comments like that are what give PC gamers a bad name.
"Second class citizens! Oh come off it!"
So every other platform the game is on gets a demo bar the PC version, and the developer mocks those unhappy about the whole thing. That's being treated fairly in your eyes?
Never? Oh ok.
Hey, maybe Facebook will save PC gaming, right Mark Rein?
You just stay there comfortably on the Xbox 360 and PS3.
well, thing is, since the uprise of multi-platform FPS the gameplay of FPS games change a lot to be played better with gamepad. Not surprising, that you like playing them on a console
