I'll probably wait until this game drops in price as well, but I gotta pick it up for those sexy pixels, amirite?
To me, judging from the Stadium assassin, it's extremely repetitive (just one long hallway of enemies after another) and annoying (oh wait, gotta charge... AGAIN), not to mention having to repeat the Coconut side mission 5 times to earn enough money for the Assassination since the Hitman Jobs were too hard.
The only fun I had after the initial thrill of the "new game syndrome" was the boss fights. I loved the two boss fights but after a while IN the boss fights, even they became repetitive. And now that I beat one, I have to earn enough money to do another one!?
I tried to love this game; I really do because I support new and innovate games, but this one just asks for too much of me. I was thinking about giving it another chance but the review only kinda "re-kindle" my motivation to do so.
@ PiggyGamer- As for "i don't feel shit", I went back and played the Wii version about halfway through. Never heard anyone say it. If I'm wrong, I will update the review. #seriousbusiness
Deus Ex just came out. Dead Island is a week away from launching. Dark Souls is just around the corner with Skyrim, Batman, MW3, BF3, UC3 and Gears 3 and others a month or so away.
And then from there you still have ME3, Lollipop Chainsaw (which looks amazing) and on and on and on. Cursed Crusade is more likely to get my money at $40 than this because deep down this feels like a title that I'll just get when it does hit the bargain bin...
Either way you look at it, there aren't a lot of games like NMH out there in the world - good review.
I appreciate the in depth review and your passion for the game. Its motivated me to give it a try.
I've found that there is a bit of a lo res tolerance curve for going from HD back to lower resolution gaming for me. It takes a few days before I don't notice the blur and soft "fuzzy" texture smoothing, etc. I'm going through this right now with Xenoblade - and i'm loving every second of it.
Why would you even mention this? This is a review for PS3 owners. Don't assume they have WII's. Dtoid always falls short on professionalism because they fall on faulty arguments like this.
So if they included boss fights from the second game in this, does that mean there's no chance of a HD port of No More Heroes 2?
Anyway I think I would rather the original experience than play through a game with slow down and tearing. There are a lot of cheap second hand Wii's our there so I might just pick one of those up for that and a few other games.
Seriously? I don't get your complaint, but that detail is always an integral part of the review. If there was a game that was initially 360 exclusive, and then ended up on the PS3, but I somehow never got around to playing it, I would want to know if it was worth it to pay extra for the newer version or if my money was better spent on the original.
I am 99.9% sure the enemies said "I don't feel shit" I beat the Wii version 2 months ago (had it in my backlog forever) so it's in recent memory. I particularly remember that part because I thought it was one of my favorite touches of the game because it reminded me of older games that used repeated voice clips. For instance I love hearing "get bonus" in the original Sin and Punishment
I was really disappointed when
What I meant to say was that I was really disappointed when I found out Genki Rockets wouldn't be in the game considering this game introduced to the amazingness that is Genki Rockets. I'm not a fan of the new graphics either I like the added polygon count, but everything is too shiny it looks like everyone's sprayed themselves with cooking spray. I played the demo, and the controls seemed to have mapped well to the dualshock 3, but nothing can replace the Wii-mote. This game did a great job at showing off the capabilities of it, and having the cellphone speaker, and that part where you have to use the wii-mote like a NES controller for that shower. It was all this little touches that made NMH great, I kind of want to play this, but I don't want to tarnish the reputation the original has built with me.
So it's a bad thing to mention that an updated rerelease of a game might not be worth purchasing for people who already own it? I'd call it more professional than assuming that people reading the review have never played the game before.
Take your head out of your ass. It's not a "faulty argument" to present more depth on a subject, and it just makes you look retarded for trying to use a debate term inappropriately.
As for this rerelease, I'll pick it up just for the shiny HD and the regular DualShock control scheme.
I be will looking forward to see his next being an total asswhole endeaver.
shit!
Anyway, after playing the demo I rather play the original
Using the Wiimote as a cellphone has no price
Despite this and the bugs though, the extra content seems pretty cool. Also, thank God you can retry failed side missions without having to return! That always annoyed the shit out of me.
But when have I ever listened to my mother? Man, this game got me in such a rotten mood. Still does. And I still don't understand why anyone likes it. Probably never will. But if some loons out there find some joy in this mess, who am I to judge? Actually, I'm probably the perfect guy in that regard... Nah, ain't worth it to be a dick on this. Y'all enjoy your game. (But if I were you, I'd wait for a price drop unless you really, really, really wanna support Suda51.)
what's even more disappointing is the lack of dual audio(which the first version of the game had) that's the feature i wanted it most.
well i was hoping they would improve the slow down and bugs. but i don't mind them.
and yes releasing it with big titles like Deus EX HR, upcoming Dark Souls, KOF XIII, Uncharted 3, wow.
they should have released it in early summer when games aren't that much.
and yes i have been buying lots of games(like Deus EX HR Augmented Edition, Catherine Love is Over Edition and such) to even purchase this.
definitely will wait for a price cut. at least we got a taste of the bosses of NMH1 and some in NMH2 in HD.
oh please make a Paradise version of No More Heroes 2. and this time fix all the bugs and put the same features from both the first Paradise Version and the Red Zone one(which is this)
Dual Audio included :P
Wouldn't it be fair to assume that most of the people interested in this game on the PS3 do not own a Wii, or they would have bought the original already? And what was with the judgmental "If you're one of those people who really, really doesn't want to own a Wii for some reason" line? It comes across as dismissive of anyone who doesn't share your love of the Wii, which seems more suited for an editorial than a review.
the game is one huge glitchfest - No More Heroes had few bugs here and there, but Heroes Paradise for every bug and glitch in original had additional 20 exclusively.
graphically, it sucked i had pretty much constant framerate drops during fighting sequences and the game for me looks worse than in wii version. they slapped so much bloom on everything it looks ridiculous. then there are graphical glitches, missing objects, screen tearing etc.
Konami turned great game into absolute piece of crap. and sales proved all of those "X game would sell more on the ps3/360" assholes wrong rather quickly considering miserable sales of Heroes Paradise compared to original No More Heroes. it took 3 weeks for Heroes Paradise to reach original's launch week sales.
I take back what I say, you are not sterling 2.0 :)
