No More Heroes creator Suda 51 eyes Xbox 360 for future titles

While Japan doesn't seem to be digging No More Heroes that much, creator Suda 51 doesn't appear to be too concerned. He may be looking to North America as a target audience, and he even expresses interest in developing a title for the Xbox 360.

TVG points to an interview with Degenki Online (Japanese) where Suda says that developing for the mainstream system in North America would be challenging and desirable - like playing Major League Baseball.

We're not sure what baseball has to do with anything, but we'd be more than happy to play a Suda 51 title on our Xbox 360s. Hopefully we'll hear more after his current work (Fatal Frame IV and a remake of The Silver Case) is done.

yeah since it'll probably never make it to Europe on the Wii, I hope they'll get it here with the 360 :-)

A no more Heroes port in HD would be an insta-sell on 360...I will pick it up on Wii, but if there is mention of a 360 then 1 lost Wii sale.

This actually makes a lot of sense. The 360 sells in Japan to a hardcore gamer market. So even though it's the minority system in Japan, a Suda51 game would be right at home in that market.

Shit, I just called this an hour ago:

Also, hardcore gaming in japan seems to be dying out by the year. Which sucks. 360 seems to be becoming the choice for niche japanese developers, seeing as at least it means westerners will buy the games.

I'm all like psychic and shit.

Only because sales on the wii have been anything but stellar in Japan.

I still don't think he'll get many more sales figures.

If he wants to get sellable games, he just needs to stop making bizzarro land games.

I think he's referring to baseball in terms of Japanese baseball players wanting to cross over ocean and playing in the big leagues here. It's hard to make the transfer and desirable, since they'd probably make more here in doing so.

this probably will set a precedent for a LOT of developers, thought the wii is selling fast, most jap developers in somewhat the same vein as suda 51 want a better machine to expess thier creativity on, which means good news for 360 and/or ps3 owners due to thier power

A machine that has mostly ports, and its most popular games are minigame collections.

Do any of you really expect No more Heroes to do well with that kind of audience?
