No More Heroes coming to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 photo

We've heard rumblings for some time now that No More Heroes could be making the Hi-Def jump. The latest issue of Famitsu has finally confirmed what we all have been hopping for! The original No More Heroes will indeed be hitting the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on February 25, 2010 in Japan.

A couple of scans of the latest Famitsu have been uploaded to the Internets showing off some of the new features for No More Heroes: Heroes' Paradise. Better graphics, no motion control, Japanese voice acting and a new mode called "Very Sweet Mode" where the girls of No More Heroes wear next to nothing. Sweet!

What do you all think of this news? I'm pretty excited. The only way this news could get any better is if Heroes' Paradise gets released outside of Japan!

I wonder if they'll have and option to use the PS3 motion control when it comes out.

This could go a long way in proving if there are any games out there where motion controls are truly integral to their enjoyment.

Yesss! So good to hear this. I played it on the Wii when I had one and it was quite the memorable experience; can't wait to play it again (in HD?!?).

Meanwhile, I will be waiting for NMH2, and playing it on my wii, just as I did the first.

Hell the fuck yes!! Best news I've read all day!!
No more reason to own a Wii though.. I already traded in every game I've owned for it anyway..

Oh hell yes! NMH is my favorite Wii game, and I would absolutely love to see it in pretty HD graphics. I just hope they retain that cel-shaded look and art style... maybe my eyes are just bad this late, but some of the scans look kind of not so cel-shady, particularly Shinobu.

Also, I wonder if they'll release an HD NMH 2 to coincide with the Wii release? It would be a bummer to go from playing HD NMH 1, then have to go back to the Wii for NMH 2.

Total bullshit.

I'll enjoy watching as one of my favorite games gets torn to shreds for being what it's supposed to be and selling next to nothing because it gets overlooked by generic fps #74, forcing Suda to lose a ton of money.

Of course, Bad Girl would be the one showing underboob. Not a girl that won't make you curse her existence, but rather Bad Girl.

Then again, it fits Bad Girl's character.

The motion control for NMH on the wii was probably the best executed so far. It was satisfying to deliver the killing blow with a quick swat of the remote. I hope for the sake of the non-wii owners out there that they maintain the feel on the other platforms., because that was the redeeming factor in what could've been very repetitive combat.

Why would I want this? There is next to nothing here that interests me enough to wait even longer, just to buy the game at a higher price. The graphics are fine on the Wii, Japanese voice acting has never been a deal maker or break with me, and from what I have heard the motion controls were already pretty light and well implemented to begin with. I finally have a Wii, and I am not going to buy this new version. Also, I mean it when I say "I hate breasts and do not ever want to see them in my life, if I can help it."

Why are people so excited for HD cel-shading? It looks like any other definition of cel-shading. Which looks great, but the power of the machine is pretty irrelevant.

Well, looks like we'll finally be able to prove once and for all, "do games sell better simply because they're in HD?"

I mean, you wouldn't believe the number of fanboys that tell me that NMH, "doesn't deserve to be on the Wii", that if it was sold on the 360/PS3 that "true gamers" would've appreciated it, and it would've sold 1 million copies thanks to the "hardcore" crowd that's apparently nonexistant among Wii owners.

Well fanboys, you got your wish, now let's see if you can live up to your 1 million sales claim.

Well, it's not like the game wasn't anything very special to begin with. It's quirky, but gameplay wise, it's nothing special. I kinda see this sharing the same fate as Brutal Legend.

I'd say this is more going to prove if taking motion controls out of a game enhances or destroys a game.

Nmh looked great on the wii, lacking HD wasn't it's problem. It was the open world that felt like it was ps one era and the monotonous monotonous jobs you had to do to get to battles just ruined it for me. I doubt that will be fixed in the port.

This is both Yes and No. Yes because MOE~ and HD. No because 1. motion control actually didn't suck hardcore in this game. The final slices added a little suspense to an otherwise bland hack 'n' slash mechanic. 2. this game is mostly going to look like Ass in HD. You know the news anchor that was a little too old to survive the transition to HD? That is this game.

@the7k- Yeah I know, but I've heard so many ignorant gamers claiming they would've bought NMH if it was on a, "real" console" that I kind of wonder if their claims had any actual substance. Maybe it's the bitter Suda 51 fanboy in me that supported NMH from the very beginning, even when other fanboys were calling it "indie trash."

I guess it's something I'm a bit curious about as well. Would all these niche Wii excluves like NMH and Muramasa sell better on, "better" consoles? I love Suda 51's games and I've wanted nothing but success for them, and if it turned out that he'd be wildly popular on other consoles, then so be it.

@Gee-Man

I really don't think they'd go very far. EGM did a great article in their last issue about how the 360 and PS3 gamers are PC gamers. Console gaming [a tight, defined experience, versus an open-ended, user controlled experience like Far Cry or GTA] is all but dead.

I love my 360, Wii, and PC, but the majority of 360 and PS3 gamers play Madden and Halo and have no idea that Gunstar Heroes was one of the best games ever released.

I do think games like Muramasa, No More Heroes and a few others would do better on the PS3/360.

They may not be runaway successes, but when you consider that Resident Evil 4 Wii and Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles were both outsold by Deca Sports and Party Games, you come to realize that the audience is just vastly different. It's why it boggles my mind that Capcom is more apt to listening to reasons why SF4 and RE5 should be on the Wii, and flat-out dismissing anything anyone says about putting Tatsunoko vs Capcom on the PS3/360.

To me, it's not an issue of a game "looking better", it's just that many of the people who have a Wii only buy it to play Wii Sports. It's a completely different beast.

Dr.Rockso - It's Suda's best-selling game. It did by far the best out of everything he's ever made.

Anatsu - why should I support something that he's doing that's blatantly against everything he's said and compromises his original vision of the game? I plan on buying No More Heroes 2 and saying hell no to this just to show that the Wii is where the series belong.

I'd be all over this, but I can't see playing NMH without the Wii's controls. Standard button presses plus motion for fatalities was so satisfying -- I can't see it being the same on these.

I'd like to see it in HD, though...
