I know a lot of your are playing "wait and see" with DICE's upcoming Mirror's Edge, and it's understandable. It's a new IP with a curious take on first-person action -- so you want to play a demo, right?

We know one is coming, but the question is when? According to information found on GameStop.com's Mirror's Edge page, it may be awhile. As a "bonus offer," GameStop is offering "a code to gain exclusive access to the Mirror's Edge Demo." A note on the page details that the demo will be available for download on November 6. (*cough* That's my birthday, I like candy. *cough*)

So if this is the case and gamers won't get a demo until November 6, then "boo," "hiss," and all of that. The game is set to ship on November 11, which would give gamers less than a week with the title to make an informed decision. Additionally, what's up with needing a "code" to download a demo? Aren't demos usually, uh, free?

This game has really sparked my interest, I'm looking forward to the demo to see how good it really is.

I kinda assumed it was coming out in late October, at the earliest. Kinda sucks, as I'm sorta anticipating this title.

Oh and for your birthday, I'll buy you a hooker filled with candy.

Already played the demo, so this isn't a big deal for me. :)

You know you don't need to buy it on release day, right?

I had heard a rumor that the demo was coming today.
Guess it isn't true then?
I am now a sad panda :(

Yeah I don't get why we have to gain exclusive access to a demo. Is there multiplayer beta or something? Silly Gamestop offering demo codes and peeing on consoles.

This whole thing is getting confusing. If I'm not mistaken, the little cards with the marketplace codes on them that you can actually get in-store at GameStop says the code is to unlock a bonus time trial mode within the demo... but now the website says it's a code to GET the demo...

Either way it makes no sense to me. Why would you make a demo exclusive to GS pre-order customers THAT close to the release date? On the other hand, why would you need a stupid xbox marketplace code to unlock a FEATURE within a demo?

I work at gamestop and we got codes in for mirrors edge, but it wasn't for a demo. It was to UNLOCK a TIME TRIAL MODE in the demo (however it becomes available).
Womp womp.

GameStop is not getting a code to allow you to download the demo. They are getting codes to unlock a time trial mode in the demo. Which leads me to expect that the demo itself will probably consist of a single level (probably the first) to get to run through, or perhaps just part of it. Along with the exclusive GameStop code you can then play it in time trial mode as well giving a little bit extra view as to how that mode will work as well.

As an assistant manager of my local GameStop that's what I've been told and understand it to be. I might be wrong though so don't come knocking on my door if this isn't the case... :cP
