2K Games has been quiet about the "Protector Trials" and "Minerva's Den" add-ons for BioShock 2 -- namely, why they haven't released for PC yet. Sadly, the truth of the matter is that they never will. Elizabeth Tobey, the senior manager for 2K's interactive marketing branch, gave an update on the situation.
"We will not be adding vending machine sounds into any version of BioShock 2 and we will not be adding playlists for the multiplayer DLC maps -- we did look in to both options but due to technical and timing issues, these two fixes are not feasible," she writes. "We are planning patches for the 360 and PS3 to fix some functionality issues, but they will not drastically change gameplay (and I'll post the patch notes when I get them -- these two items are still in with QA.)"
"We will also not be offering 'Protector Trials' and 'Minerva's Den' on the PC in the future -- and I want to say that I'm sorry for the disappointment this will cause to PC players out there. As always, if any of these issues change in the future, I will update you guys first, but at this point in time I don't want to make you wait any longer and these are the most definite answers I have and you guys should deem them final decisions."
Unfortunate, especially considering the quality of "Minerva's Den." At least now we aren't left wondering
Minerva's Den and Protector Trials Not Coming to the PC Version of BioShock 2 [Updated] [Shacknews]
Jordan Devore is Destructoid's PC gaming manager and founding ginger editor. He is said to be easy to love but difficult to know. When Samit inquired about his curious bio photo Jordan simply replied:
"bitches love sandcastles" ... yet, there is no sandcastle in that photo. We may never truly understand his ways.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
FUCK YOU 2K
Maybe it's just the games -I've- been playing, but PC feels shafted an awful lot lately with regards to DLC, for shame.
Well, except Valve, which tends to be the opposite situation.
Console master race!
This sucks. I was actually half looking forward to Minerva's Den.
Until gamers show these companies that a lack of support means lower sales it won't change. 2K knows they can screw over gamers by not patching these issues and they will not impact sales of their next release.
I'll never play this game again on PC.
Fuck you very much, 2k Marin! You officially turned BS 2 to BullShit 2 for me!
But on the other hand. What I even hate more is DLC as a whole. So, please, 2K and everyone else. Fuck up all your DLC's to the point that not even the biggest fanboi could care!
The first pack of DLC was already in-game, so where the two pre-order skins. The Metro Pack is virtually unplayable in an open game, the multiplayer performance is atrocious, the last DLC packs didn't even make it on PC...
And all the time they told us nothing more but lies. "It will get all better soon...We will fix XYZ..."
Guys, I feel kind of ripped off.
This has actually convinced me not to buy the bioshock game truth be told. The issue is that they don't make connections between acts like this and a games downfall. Corporate cognitive dissonance is a powerful thing.
