No Hitler in new Wolfenstein? That makes us Sadolf photo

With a brand new Wolfenstein on the cards, one could be forgiven for salivating at the thought of tackling the somewhat controversial Third Reich frontman, Adolf Hitler. Unfortunately, the Ron Mael lookalike will not be putting in an appearance for id's Nazi-themed shooter ... at least this time.

"No, he's not in our game," confirmed smirking lead artist Kevin Cloud. "We've got to save something for future Wolfensteins. We can't do him in yet!"

The new title (to be launched "when it's done") follows on from 2001's awful Return To Castle Wolfenstein, with hero BJ Blazkowicz fighting occult-dabbling Nazis using a dimension rift known as The Veil. You will use special Veil powers such as time slowdown to take on the jackbooted jackasses as they try and take over the world using a new energy source, The Black Sun.

Hitler for DLC! Hitler for DLC!

Aaaaand that's why it's not Wolfenstein to me.

Wolfenstein 3D is amazing because it is absolutely insane. I don't want a serious Wolfenstein, I want to pick up treasure hidden behind giant swastika paintings, eat dog food to gain health, and fight Hitler as he tools around in a mech suit.

That's how Grandpa did it, that's how I wanna do it.

Awful Return to Castle Wolfenstein? I thought it was pretty solid, aside from a few lame things like undead warriors and giant Uber soldiers (wait who am I kidding Wolf3D had the lamest stuff ever in it and it was AWESOME).

Still waiting for a Wolfenstein that pays respect to Wolf3D though. I want points, Hitler, and dog food.

Hitler sucks, he's always sucked even back in the day. People who like him suck and should start killing Chairman Mao. Mao is much better than hitler, just check the gametrailers comparison videos, clearly he's the nastiest dictator in history.

Hitler fanboys need to check themselves before they wreck themselves. Mao for the win.

You should have to kill him in every wolfenstein. You can't keep a good villan down!
Episode 1: Hitler stole the princess.
Episode 2: Hitler killed Carl Weathers by cutting off his arm and stabbing him in the chest.
Episode 3: Hitler killed Carl Weathers again..but this time at a scrimmage boxing match.

Etc etc etc.

No Hitler? WTF?! Wolfenstein 3D had Hitler, something don't add up here... also needs more Nazis, Swastikas and Nazis with Swastikas.

What about "Cyborg Hitler Jesus"? Will he be in the game?

Sure, the undead segments usually sucked pretty hard, but I actually enjoyed the rest of Return to Castle Wolfenstein. Enough to play it through a couple times at least. The little boot kick still makes me laugh.

Though honestly, this one looks crummy. Mainly because it looks like Return and you'd think they'd have made some improvements by now...

Return to Castle Wolfenstein is better than Jim Sterling.

Also "somewhat controversial Third Reich frontman" has to be the best description of Hitler ever.

Is it sad that the first thing I noticed was that BJ had the knife, and that that was how I killed Hitler too?

What? That was a very good game. Are you sure you're not confusing it something else? Or maybe you didn't play the PC version?

Of course he played it on Xbox. RtcW: Tides of War was a good port, though. I played it coop with my little brother.

Awful? Man oh man! I think RTCW is the game that holds "Most hours played" for me. I played the Xbox version 'till I passed out every night for like 6 months. My roomie and I had 2 xboxs online and next to each other. It, perhaps, was the single coolest thing I've ever done with my life...

Wasnt Hitler just in the expansion Spear of Destiny? I cant remember for sure.

RTCW was awesome. Especially online, at least on the PC. Im getting sick of FPS games with powers though. Why is bullet time always one of those powers?

It'll be worth the wait if they make Hans "GUTEN TAG!" Grosse the final boss of this one, and you know it.

Also, is that screen from some sort of high-definition port? The one I'm playing looks exactly as it did the first time around.

That's like not including Diablo in D3 because he is too satanic. But hey, at least they might include him in future Wolf games. PS: RtCW rocked, your opinion has failed.

Also, in before it's made and posted: that video of Hitler where he's pissed at losing his WoW account? Yea, that will be re-dubbed for this...I can see it now.
