No Gears of War 2 for Germany or Japan ... indefinitely photo

Official word has come that Gears of War 2 will not be coming to Germany or Japan this November, with the game remaining indefinitely unreleased in either territory.

“We can confirm that Gears of War 2 will not be available in Germany or Japan indefinitely," a Microsoft spokesman told Edge.

While Germany is hardly surprising, given that fascism never seemed to die the country's ratings board has severe maturity issues when handling videogame content, the Japanese issue is a bit of a surprise. The original Gears of War gathered itself a respectable amount of popularity in Japan, so it's incredibly odd that Japan wouldn't be getting the sequel.

MS has so far given no indication as to why Gears 2 won't be released in these territories, although we know Germany's nazi bastards ratings board refused to classify the game in May. German gamers will most likely have to do what they always do, and call their local, likely popular, importer. As for Japan, it'll be a real shocker if it never gets released at all, so we'll wait and see.

Like you said, Germany is hardly surprising, Japan a bit. You'd think they would just slap a Z rating on it and let it go given the amount of other violent games that get released over there, like oh lets say THE ONES WHERE YOU RAPE PEOPLE!?

German gamers can just drive to Italy or Poland to buy the game, as long as they don't start another invasion. those countries are so close to each other, they only have to get a train for 2 hours to get to another country.

So everyone who just bought a cheap 360 in Japan following the price cut is being fucked. Way to win round your new customers, Microsoft.

They'll censor the hell out of Fallout 3 too. God I hate this country. I would've gladly bought those games, but now I guess I'll have to stick to piracy. Their fault.

Since the first game got banned in Germany, the sequel is automatically banned through German law. (Although banned means you can still buy it in a store, if you are old enough, ask for it and they have it.)
Also no surprise with no Japan release either.

Weird I didn't know Germany was like that. I thought Germany was all about Metal. Banning violent games isn't very metal.

No wonder Nintendo owns Germany, no other games get released there. Seriously, what can German gamers play on their 360's or PS3's that they can buy within the country?

Japan is a nutcase as well. Non Consensual Rape is A-Ok but please, no shooting or gore, even if it is for a just cause.

Japan must be the biggest hypocrite wlaking the Earth.
