No Episode Three for E3, but we advise you to check out this concept art photo

Check out the hotness, the first concept art for Half-Life 2: Episode Three. This piece of art is part of the Into the Pixel exhibit which will take place at this year's E for All Expo on October 3.

Featuring what can only be Gordon Freeman facing off against a Combine Advisor in what appears to be a Citadel, this promises a climactic showdown with the grub-like masterminds of Earth's enslavement. The exhibit which features this piece will be made of sixteen different pieces of videogame art from around the world.

This may come as little solace to those hoping to catch the latest of Freeman's adventures at E3, but sadly Valve has confirmed we won't be seeing Episode Three there. Just keep looking at the pretty picture though, it'll be okay.

I want to skoosh those Advisors with my crowbar so bad...

L4D will be out before it though, so it's all good and peaches.

That picture is EPIC, especially since he's approaching it with nothing but his crowbar.

I can live without L4D, but I really hope Valve has mercy on us PS3 owners for Episode 3.

Don't bring a crowbar to a telekinesis fight.

I wonder if Valve is going to really surprise us and give Gordon some alien powers to combat the fat body telekinetic aliens like they did in Half-Life 2 with the gravity gun going ape shit crazy and becoming the main weapon of power. They really could go a number of directions and I can't wait to discover what they come up with. Each iteration of Half-Life gets better and better, its amazing.

And Gordon with alien powers? FUCK NO. Sounds like something that would be in a Full Life Consequences sequel.

Ep3 is looking awesome already

Yeah, Gordon won't get alien powers. He's gonna use his sheepy follower Alyx and sacrifice her to the Dark God and gain SATANIC powers to fight the advisors instead.

Well, while it looks like the citadel, it can't be the citadel for reasons that those who have played through hl2, ep1 and ep2 knows.

Zzzzz, what happened to choosing the Episodic format to release games in less time? Wake me somewhere in 2010 or something.

I would wait a hundred years for this. Gordon Freeman confronting the leader of the Combine on the Combine homeworld? Say it's so! SAY IT. Using an Aperture portal gun to get to their planet? Say it's so! SAY IT. The G-Man taking both Alyx and Gordon at the end of-...

Okay, I'll stop. I just really, really want this.

Pew, it's still less time. You get a new Half-Life 2 game in yearly intervals rather than waiting 6 years.

Oh God. My DO WANT levels have never been higher. Like Sharpless, I would wait the longest time for this game, as long as it meant that time was made perfecting it.

Im with Sterling, quality takes time. Valve people know how to pollish a game, maybe sometimes they spend too much time with it when they should be looking for ways to make the games a little bit longer. Thats, in my personal opinion, what Valve has to aim to, longer games with more replay value in the half life universe.

Dont get me wrong, Half Life is probably my favorite game of all time. I just love everything about the Universe and Im hoping they release more hl.

I will give them all the time they need with episode 3 since is going to be the end of "half life 3". How knows? Maybe the will answer some questions.
