Bungie recently reiterated plans to not support
Halo: ODST with post-launch downloadable content. Speaking to Eurogamer at PAX 2009, Bungie community head honcho Brian Jarrard confirmed that the studio might not create DLC for the not-so-budget-priced
Halo 3 expansion. He pegged Bungie’s next title as the reason for the lack of future
ODST content
"The number one question these days is whether we're going to do DLC for
ODST and add more Firefight maps,” said Jarrard. “Right now we honestly have no plans to do that because we have another huge game in the works.”
This shouldn’t be a surprise, especially considering that
ODST is an expansion containing several other bits and pieces of expansionary content. But notice that Jarrard didn’t count it out. There’s at least a chance that more Firefight stuff -- which is a mode that will be undoubtedly hot with fans -- could come.

I'll remain skeptical.
Say what you will about the pricing and the way Bungie (was probably forced) limited ranked matches to people who have purchased the DLC -- support! It's more than CoD4 can say thanks to Activision's one Call of Duty a year plan.
Forge + Sandbox + Firefight = Bad experiences
