I love twin-stick shooters, but since Geometry Wars is the series that made the genre huge again I'd rather they wait until they feel they had something truly sequel worthy. They make good points about not wanting to oversaturate and ruin Geometry Wars as a brand.

That actually sounds like a good idea to me. Beyond bringing the sequel to other platforms that it's not currently on, I don't think we need another Geometry Wars game for a little while. Bizarre, I admire your restraint.

Well. I didn't play the original much... But still that's a shame. It was a good game.

I think I'm okay with this. I still boot up Geometry Wars 2 every now and then, and it's still a fabulous game. I don't really need another one.

I can agree with the general consensus here, what would they really improve upon for a sequel?

Like somebody said before, I'd really love it if they'd at least develop a new game for the 3DS. Giving it a level creator and editor with the ability to share your stages online in addition to some new stages would be really sweet. Also, having the drones all coming in at max level or being upgraded by the number of Geoms you collect rather than the amount of time you survive for would be much better. Then they'd need to make sure to not prevent the player from accessing an entire part of the game without either buying another version of the game or resorting to using a cheating device. Of course, GW2's extra modes would need to be included in the Retro Evolved 2 portion of the game. Increasing/removing the score cap would also be nice, especially for the leaderboards.

Another thing I think might make the game even better, if done right, would be to have boss stages, which could probably be really fun in certain stages given the possible obstacles. Since stages aren't finished until the player dies, the bosses would have infinite health. That, or it'd constantly come back stronger than it was before each time you defeat it, a la Warning Forever or You Will Die.

IMHO, giving us a new Galaxies that does all of these things would more than justify a sequel and these all, save maybe the level sharing and the boss thing, don't seem like too difficult tasks.
