Being as Guild Wars is my current MMO, switching over to GW2 is more of a 'when' than an 'if'.
As for the required group, that's par for the course for Guild Wars, and I kind of like it provided I have friends available. Random groups can suck when you've got tag-alongs that don't do anything, but that can be said of any game.
SHITBALLS. I was so pumped for GW2 and now we have to wait more, what a shitty deal.
Ditto what Trev said. I have played GW since the beta days and I have always been impressed with the commitment that the developers have to this game. So waiting longer is no big deal to me. Besides you can always get your feet wet now in Guild Wars if you are not currently playing it.
I've always looked at Guild Wars as the MMO for people who hate MMO's. It's what I play with my friends instead of sucking my life away in WoW.
Like Trev it will be a question of "when" and not "if"

I hate it when people don't know what MMO means, then slap it on anything with multiplayer and rpg in the details.
I never played the original guild wars and I'm balls deep in Hellgate: london (I know its not an MMO) with no desire to quit any time soon. However, I may check out GW2 when it comes out. Who knows?
Guild wars was easily my favorite MMO and still is right now. But soon WaR will be coming and between that and Diablo 3 on the horizon I doubt Guildwars 2 I will have much time to play Guildwars 2.
I will never play GW2 because GW1 is a terrible game and I hate it.
I got heavily back into GW a few months ago. Hopefully I'll get some kind of earlier access to the beta since I've been playing the first one since it came out. That would be really nice.

I'm with Trev, it's an easy step for me. I've played it since the beta days too, and been very excited for GW2 since they announced it with all the magazine press.
I'd gladly go, and am also a bit miffed I'll have to wait to see it. But I has faith that it's for teh gr3ater g00d.
I still have so much catching up to do in GW1, I was in beta, but then was without a computer between Fall '05 and early '07. I have all the campaigns and GW:EN, so there's still a lot of content for me to get through.
