Hopes were left pretty high yesterday when Bayonetta director Hideki Kamiya told a fan that Bayonetta 2 news was arriving next week in a magazine. Unfortunately, the videogame industry is never that up-front and honest about upcoming reveals, and as it turns out, Kamiya wasn't supposed to be taken seriously.
Platinum Games producer Atsushi Inaba has now denied that any Bayonetta 2 news is coming, stating for the record that Kamiya's jokes tend to push the envelope. In other words, don't trust anything the man says, because there's a good chance he's screwing with you, just to watch you cry.
In fact, if any industry spokesman tells you that a magazine reveal is coming soon, don't believe him. Magazines protect that stuff like dragons sitting in a pile of golden boobs, so any candid spoilers from developers are more than their job's worth.
