Nitronic Rush follow-up looks for funding via Kickstarter
Last year the impossible happened: Nitronic Rush dethroned San Francisco Rush 2049 for being the best futuristic racer with "Rush" in the title. Now the developer is going to do a retail victory lap with spiritual successor Distance, but they need your help first. Like, $125,000 worth of your help. Considering the level of quality this group achieved as students at DigiPen with the excellent (and free!) Nitronic Rush, the promise of making a more ambitious follow-up with more money and staff is exciting. Refract Studio was formed by three of the main developers of Nitronic Rush and now they want to make their wishlist of ideas for that game come true with Distance. From the game's official website: "We're building Distance from the ground up. This allows us to now include many fan-requested features like LAN/Online multiplayer, a powerful new level editor, the ability to be on other distribution platforms (like Steam, Origin, etc), and tons of more content!" There isn't another game on the market that captures the "survival racing" approach of Nitronic Rush, so I hope this project receives funding. I feel compelled to donate since I had such a blast with the first game. Why not download the free game and see if you feel the same? Did you know? | 2:00 PM on 11.09.2011 Review: Nitronic Rush |

It’s hard not to be wary of something given away for free in the age of Horse Armor DLC. Nitronic Rush is neither Korean nor a free-to-play MMORPG, so I let my guard down this time -- good thing too! Nitronic Rush i...more

I like the Heroes of Might & Magic series, but it has never been perfect. It's a very niche set of games that aren't quite role-playing titles or full-fledged strategy games. They are almost their own weird hybrid ge...more
