NIS America announces Phantom Brave PSP photo

NIS America has a new title coming out, and I'm guessing it's one you'll recognize: Phantom Brave. It was first on the PS2, and then came to the Wii. This is now a PSP game, a port of the Wii version.

I really enjoyed this RPG on the Wii last year. This little strategy RPG wasn't anything groundbreaking, but it was fun and kind of silly. It will now be called Phantom Brave: The Hermuda Triangle for this portable release, and it's coming as both a UMD release and a PlayStation Network download in March of next year, complete with new story bits, characters, and even some cameos.

Check out the cover art in our gallery below.

Phantom Brave > La Pucelle > Disgaea > Disgaea 2 > Makai Kingdom

So yeah, I'll be getting this.

@Lenigold

He's in the game, though.

Seriously, NIS, you need to stop rereleasing your old properties. This is the second time you've ported Phantom Brave to another console and your other ports are getting ridiculous.

Stop it, guys. Just work on new stuff.

meh. I'd love a portable Phantom Brave. Shame I already own the PS2 version so I have no need to get it.

Phantom Brave is probably my least favorite of the series. I loved the free movement, but I hated the limited use of my army. Makai Kingdom was a lot better in my opinion, and I was sort of sad that they went back to the grid for the later Disgaea sequels.

ZHP has been a lot of fun so far though. Oldschool roguelike action, with NIS's batshit insanity is clearly a win.

@shawnkelfonne...i played it for a while before i got REALLY tired...the grinding seem more forced than optional...the gameplay felt very one dimensional...and worst of all...the humor fell quite flat for me...

I don't see the problem with the grinding. It is evident in all of NIS's games and pretty much all RPGs in general. Sometime or other there will be a time in a game where you need to grind. And heck, you're complaining about grinding when all of NIS's SRPGs are all about massive amounts of grinding.

Phantom Brave is a game of summoning as many units as possible rather than focusing on a few strong units. Sadly people always ignore the fact that limiting unit turns just makes them rethink their strategies.

And the game is extremely serious and melodramatic. It's not supposed to be any kind of humorous.

I dunno...I've already bought this twice, and I'm not sure that portability and a handful of extra trinkets make me want to do it again.
